I threw up in my mouth a little my dark little Phlegmy one.

^ Unpleasant.
 Ah double meanings. Love 'em.

Too bad your user name and sig are too hard to make double meanings for eh?

Its gonna be wierd calling it AMI stadium now though, I'll probably keep calling it Jade and be like those old blokes that still call Yarrow Stadium "Rugby Park" or "The Bullring"

My username is Latin and mean's my time or my hour.

Probably not that difficult, I think us old timers will never change their rightful names, the next generation can be trusted for that.

True. It scares me that I'm starting my old timers career at 16 though.

Newlands, can't beat that picturesque mountain backdrop. The ground has a fantastic atmosphere as well.

I was going to vote for an Australian ground and five years ago I would have. But going to the cricket at the Gabba has changed so much over the last couple of years that they have sucked the fun out of a day at the cricket. No noise allowed, but you have to sit through ear-splitting advertisements all day,no waves,no smoking,no barracking,no musical instruments,no banners,no 'hill',crammed into plastic seats with no knee room, you can't bring your own food or drinks (you have to buy the sponsors overpriced and rubbish products). It's like being back in school again. You can't even bring in your own drink trays, and submit to being 'patted down' before entry.
Does this go on in other countries Test venues? I cannot comment on any other grounds as I've only been to England and could not get a ticket for a match for love nor money, loved the Lords tour though.
There's good reasons for most of the above, TBH. The wave was banned as it'd become dangerous; smoking being banned is never a bad thing; musical-instruments and banners can be disruptive; and while having to buy sponsors' products and sit through ads is regrettable, it's pretty much inevitable. The restrictions on stuff you can bring in, too, are a sad inevitability of the times we now live in.

This is already the case at plenty of other grounds around The World and will only increasingly become so as the years roll on.

Well, Cameron went for it - I know it's a lot of boxes, but if he can, so can you.

EDIT: &%$£ me, so did sp713.

Harare when the Jacarandas are in bloom and the outfield has been properly watered. The pavilion is really evocative for me; there isn't another like it.

I always knew that you Aussies were an inherently soft lot.

Not if you're a smoker.

Do me a favour.

Bah!

Try sitting directly in front of the the blokes playing the horns and banging the drums for a few hours and see if you still enjoy your day's cricket. One of the reasons I've stopped going to internationals altogether.

(edit: how come I don't get the original quote?)

I can see where you're coming from, and I admit that I probably wouldn't enjoy my day's cricket if I wasn't one of those horn-playing, drum-banging blokes in the first place. :p

I dunno. Maybe I made it up.

I love how rugby grounds like Eden Park and Lancaster Park get in the poll ahead of NZ's only proper international cricket ground the Basin Reserve. Dear oh dear.

Melbourne has the best view.
Lords ground is awesome for its drainage facilities.

My personal fav. is Uppal stadium, Hyderabad. :)
