Now correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Malik considered a fine upstanding person until it was found he was a match-fixer? I'm unaware of any disruption he caused during his career.

Likewise, I've only ever heard stuff about Sarfraz as being a stupid conspiracy-theorist after his career. Never heard any accusations of poor behaviour during his time in the side.
Just to be clear, are you suggesting that Shoaib Akhtar has harmed Pakistan Cricket more than Malik and Nawaz ?

I'm suggesting he's been more of a disruptive influence during his playing career than they were.

So what harm has Shoaib done to Pakistan Cricket ? And how is that bigger than the harm done to Pakistan Cricket by players like Sarfira Nawaz, Salim Malik etc ?
So chucking allegation, drug allegation, now hitting his teammate with the bat are not any way harmful to pakistan cricket .? All those issues had given much headache for his authorities . And missing more matches than playing ....what do u want more ?

I know others like waqar ,wasim....were not angels either .But didn't they play enough matches .Yes they did .

I don't think there's any need to compare Shoaib to other players. Each player should be evaluated. It doesn't matter if Sarfaraz Nawaz (or any other player) got away with murder. It shouldn't happen again. Somehow, the culture needs to change. If making an example out of Shoaib achieves that, then so be it. Shoaib is a continued distraction to the team. He's undisciplined and has demonstrated that he doesn't learn from his mistakes. This soft ban that he received, which is conveniently back-dated, is not going to teach him anything either. So the lesson to him (and other aspiring youngsters) is: if you have talent, you can misbehave repeatedly and get away with it.
I am not trying to compare Shoaib to anyone, neither am I denying the desciplinary problems Shoaib has. All I am asking, how did it harm Pakistan Cricket more than Sarfaraz and Malik did ?

Shoaib was the Darling of Pakistan Cricket, despite the chucking allegations. Drug Allegation, yeah he took steroids, so did Md. Asif. PCB showed its weakness and didn't ban them. They were the ones which harmed Pakistani Cricket more than Akhtar and Asif.

Hitting the team mate with the bat, yes descplinary problem Shoaib has, but he was not alone there and as innocent as Afridi and Asif tried to be, they were equally involved. PCB was once again not fair on the whole issue.

Akhtar was a head ache for worcestershire county as per chairman's revelations .So the guy basically has an attitude problem .

How exactly u know that Asif and Afridi are equally responsible ?U are gong to say that Akhtar is a honest man .BTW who handed him a bat to hit Asif ?

If you are saying that there have been other players in the past who've hurt Pakistan cricket more than Shoaib, then I agree with you.

However, that's irrelevant to determining his punishment. If he does something wrong, he should get punished for it, whether or not someone in the past got away with something worse. I think he's a destructive influence on the team. He has undeniable talent, but IMHO, he is not worth the trouble. By the way, I'm no fan of Afridi's antics either. And yes, if Asif gets in a habit of getting into repeated troubles, then he too should go away. However, neither of them (certainly not Asif) have been as undisciplined as Shoaib.

Far too harsh imo, big boys argue, leave it off the field and let them sort it out:) Sure a fine but not a ban for showing a bit of passion?

What next? 'He called me a name at training, and hurt my feelings'8-)

You can do neither IMO.

Hitting someone with a bat is just not on. Punching someone - who's supposed to be a team-mate - would be bad enough. Using an implement is even worse.

A bruise, I got one last night when hit at training with a cricket ball8-)
