Admittly I'm in over my head with this one, but doesn't this technically count as assult with Akhtar attacking Asif with a bat? If this happened somewhere else he would have a charge hanging over his head.

I doubt he'd be charged with much for a fairly light strike on the leg.

The implications regarding Pakistan team are far, far greater than those regarding actual damage done.

If he'd whacked him 3 or 4 times, somewhere else higher in the body, though, he'd probably be up for assault, affray and anything else and quite damn rightly.

Well as you might remember, Lee Bowyer got charged with fighting his own teammate Kieron Dyer when they were at Newcastle, despite as comical as it was. Mind you the UK and Pakistan are two completely different places obviously.

Probably helps if I read it all before commenting :p

I'd forgotten about the Bowyer-Dyer incident, and TBH I can't even remember what happened.

I don't care about ban on number of matches, what is interesting is that he is on probation for 2 years and if he misbehaves during this time again he would face a life ban.

For me , that is the best part of the judgement.I would like to see how Akhtar behaves from now on, and i'm hoping that if he gets into trouble then PCB would hopefully ban him for life instead of giving him any more chances.

13 Matches seems about right, although i would've preferred to see it start at the time of announcement.

he is senior because.. he has been playing under different captain.. almost played in all the countries..and he has been with the team since his debute most of the time.. that makes him a senior player..i know he hasn't played 50 test but over 200 handred odis.. comparing to most of his teamates.. it is alot to be considered expriance.. and senior

he hit a spectator?? i don't recall that.. he just show him his bat.. and as far as i know it was the spectator's fault.. why he has to say somthing against someone's country?..i think the spectator got a way easily with it while afridi was punished harshly.. if it was me and someone would say something bad about my country i would have hit him with that bat..

in the past wasim akram and waqar younis had their problems.. imran khan with sarfaraz nawaz .. they had problems and they still have problems... these type of problems exist in every team.. but blaming one person without knowing the truth based on thier charactor is unfair..in case of younis vs afridi or afridi vs others.. blaming afridi for all of that without knowing who started it first is just unfair.. they all have thier differences and it is never fair to blame one without any prove..
Now please don't compare behavious problems a crap player like Shahid Afrfi with legends like Imran & Miandad. They did have problem but you could never see them making any strong comments in the field or refusing to obey their captain. As a player & captain,Imran was a very disciplened person & ha never compromised on discipline. And when you have two great bowlers from opposite camps, you can expect them to have differences but did u ever see them dancing on he pitch or refusing to bowl when your captain asks to do so.All of them were great players & Afridi is just a crap player who isn't even a regular member of the team.

Ridiculous how the games that Pakistan have played since the start of the Twenty20 World Cup all count towards his ban. It should be 13 matches from the time of the announcement.
Nah, DWTA. He still missed the matches. He shouldn't be punished for the time it takes them to make the decision.

i didn't campar afridi as a player to them... i just campared the players problems with each other.. chill.. afridi would never ever be like imran or javid...

give me the example of a time when afridi refused to bowle when his captain asked him to bowle?

Afridi has been thinking he's a senior player for years though, before he got half of this in some cases. Anyway, you can play as many games as you want, if you're in and out of the team you can never really be a senior player in my book.

Are there any other players Younis has had troubles with?

If so, I can't recall any.

Are there any other players Afridi has had troubles with?

Yes, plenty and plenty.
ya younis had problems with shoaib akhter..

afridi had problems with younis khan.. and i don't recall of him having problem with anyone else..off course shoaib akhter who claimed that afridi is guilty

So, Younis has had troubles with Shoaib and Afridi... and no-one else (in the playing camp)...

Anyone spot a pattern?

He missed the games due to being sent home in disgrace. He was punished initially and swiftly, which I agree with. But due to the length of the ban, he is going to be back very soon which isn't right. Of course, if it was my decision then he wouldn't be playing until next year.

i heard of him having problem with inzi once.. couldn't conform it though... but any how.. there is differencess between players.. overall my point is it is unfair to blame one without any prove..

We have ample enough proof of Afridi's disruptive influence on the team, if you ask me. Far more so than any other players except Shoaib.
