Yes it almosts makes watching ODI interestingNah look, I think it's great for the game. Any attempts to sanitize an international contest should be nullified without delay.
They can give it their best, as long as they win, I don't think the Aussies will lose any sleep over it tbhin terms of the Symonds case, it's time Aussies got some of their own medicine
It's not as if he's serious about it.For clarification, the part I was referring to was the Hafeez-related part. Even though I struggle to believe the concept of hell, I try to avoid using that phrase ("burn in hell") and I can see why it'd be especially bad for Muslims (which UIMM Hafeez is).
And I wouldn't be serious either if I put "haroon to burn in hell for mis-spelling Kallis repeatedly" in mine, but it certainly wouldn't be a good idea nor tolerated, and I don't imagine haroon would react well to it either. It's not as if he's serious about it.
From memory, Symonds said that the Indians too exuberant in their celebrations. Thought it wasn't really necessary; it wasn't as though they were "bad winners", they were exuberant but they weren't really rubbing it in the faces of anyone else or anything.neutralguy said:Infact if you recall correctly, the whole thing was started by the SYMONDS only before the start of the series, when he said something really stupid (i forgot it.SJS might remember). This came in media and from then on the crowds and media have started paying more attention to Symonds.
Yes. Symonds need not have commented on Indians going 'overboard' in their jubilation at winning the T20WC.From memory, Symonds said that the Indians too exuberant in their celebrations. Thought it wasn't really necessary; it wasn't as though they were "bad winners", they were exuberant but they weren't really rubbing it in the faces of anyone else or anything.
winning is not everythingThey can give it their best, as long as they win, I don't think the Aussies will lose any sleep over it tbh
It's the only thing.winning is not everything
sorry i dont agree......you got to get the respect also......It's the only thing.
Not really. These professional players play the game to win, and IMO there is no other way to play it. If you won't do anything within your power and the rules (sometimes breaking them) to win, you shouldn't be in the team.sorry i dont agree......you got to get the respect also......
Disappointing statement. Racism can not be justified.in terms of the Symonds case, it's time Aussies got some of their own medicine
He may be talking about the drama before yesterday's match.Disappointing statement. Racism can not be justified.
I personally felt he has every right to express his opinion. I also felt that India had celebrated in an extreme manner just like England when they won the Ashes.Yes. Symonds need not have commented on Indians going 'overboard' in their jubilation at winning the T20WC.
so why are the rules there.........Not really. These professional players play the game to win, and IMO there is no other way to play it. If you won't do anything within your power and the rules (sometimes breaking them) to win, you shouldn't be in the team.
Rules are there to stop people cheating, which is good. Drugs obviously come under the category of cheating, which wasn't what I meant when I said that small infringements can be tolerated and accepted. You always have to be playing the game hard, but pushing the letter of the law in order for your team to get an advantage and victory.so why are the rules there.........
then people taking drugs....should also be fine with u they are just breaking the rules to WIN...
I don't remember saying it was?winning is not everything
yeah, but I have... I remember even MacGill once giving a bit of a send off to an Indian batsman, not sure who it was.
I have seen the likes of Fleming and Gillespie do it to guys like Lara. As I said, while Sree maybe overdoing it at times, what he does is not so much different to what is done by so many other bowlers from other sides... Appealing for run outs and the like when the batsman just walked out of the crease is stupid and appalling behaviour on his part but the way he got in the batsman's face after he got Symonds out, it has happened before, although as Vic pointed out, others don't carry on for so long but then again, other batsmen didn't stare at the bowlers' face like how Symonds did after that dismissal. I think both of them have been equally stupid. That's all. A lot of the media are just concentrating on Sree because he is Indian and this is NOT a common feature in our cricketing ethos. Except for the run out incident and this clapping thing (which is still his word vs my word at the moment), I don't think he has done anything that other players' haven't and in those respects, he is only as guilty as Symonds has been....
