YES!! Zee finally showing the match. Apparently they had to get the cricket highlights from 1984 and football out of the way.

Nah, him making a run a ball ton or better in a limited overs game would prove something to selectors, his Test performances were never in doubt.
Still be good, sort of like a "**** you" to the selectors.

Amla and Kallis both have starts, lets hope that they push on from here.

What's the story mate? cricinfo isn't very helpful. Flat pitch I assume? What's the bowling been like?

The bowling has been good in patches, especially just after lunch. The pitch is absolutely dead already. The ball is rarely even carrying through the the keeper (who should obviously be further up). There has actually been a little bit of turn for the spinners, but really slow turn.

Sounds like Pakistan for sure. Cheers.

This pitch looks identical to the one in Karachi late last year. The bounce will deteriorate and I feel bad for Pakistan as they'll have to bat last. I feel the toss may prove to be crucial in this match. Yousuf was the only one who looked good on this pitch and he's not playing.

I don't think it was anything to do a cowardly nature, but when was the last time he had a bat? He wouldn't have been expecting to play this Test until about a week ago, so I beleive him when he says he hasn't had hardly any batting practice.

Don't think he's played any cricket since the WC. I don't think its match fitness anyway, I get the feeling it has to do with the whole ICL thing and terms and conditions not having been decided on between him and the PCB.

Amla approaching his half-century, would be good for him if he tonned up.

I just can't understand why Pakistan always prepares such dead tracks for a home test series, is it intentional or are the pitches just not good anymore.

Well, there used to be a theory that in a 3 Test series the first two pitches would be roads, meaning draws, and then the third pitch would be an absolute minefield. Coupled with some of the umpiring that went on within Pakistan, it was almost impossible to win a series.
