Always wondered why Braces never used him in ODI's opening TBH. He's used everyone else. In tests however, he would struggle.

McMillan is retiring? News to me. He's never been used at the top in ODI's because he doesn't have the technique, he'd get absolutely slaughtered. Much better during the middle overs where he can look to dominate the spinners.

Said on the news the other day that he is expected to announce his retirement soon.

And I was only semi serious about him opening, I'm more surprised Braces didn't try it.

Really? I haven't heard any rumours or anything. If that's the case, expect him to join Harris, Cairns and Marshall.

Our middle order looks the most solid part of our team, I don't see why you'd want to mess with it.

Former Black Caps Chris Cairns, Nathan Astle, Chris Harris and Hamish Marshall have all signed deals with the Indian Cricket League. there was a rumour that mcmillan will sign also... i herd Bryan wattle speak about on sport radio, he did mention however he can not get a confitmation eitheer way in other words no straight out denial from the mcmillan camp.

The attack Sinclair made his debut double-ton against was most definitely crap. Franklyn Rose was an awful bowler.

Lou Vincent shouldn't be in the NZ team in either form. His best claim is probably as a pinch-hitting opener/slogger in ODIs but I'd rather we didn't resort to such novelty tactics.

Could have some credit to it though, McMillan seems to really enjoy the shorter form of the game from what I've read and heard. I don't think he'd ship out until he's retired from international cricket though, and by that time there's that OTHER official T20 league to consider. However it turns out.

Anyone else furious that pretty much everyone but us is playing cricket? WI aren't playing anyone AFAIK, why didn't we organise a series with them before we take on SA? SA will be matchfit while we will have to get into our rythym whilst trying to beat one of the best test sides in the world.

The great thing about this is that with Papps and Cumming opening Lou might get a chance in the middle order somewhere.... the last time he made 224.... actually, his last three test scores before he was dropped were 224, 13, and 92. He deserved to keep his place and I really hope he does well on the tour

Im starting to think NZ could be missing out on a gem, because they keep stuffing him around, making him open. If he is given a prolonged run in the middle order I would back him to cement his spot and turn into a really good player... much better than a few others we have wasted our time with over the past few years.
