Well... perhaps. Some maybe overrate his output in ODIs.
I myself feel he could have done so much more, had he only put his mind to it as Jayasuriya did. I often thought he was more concerned about playing shots than scoring runs, a feeling I've also had with Craig McMillan amongst others. His domestic OD record was actually very good, better than Jayasuriya's, as was his First-Class record.
And as I just said, coincidentally enough in my very previous post, he was IMO a top-shelf wicketkeeper. I held-out hope for him even right up to his very last few games. Sadly, he never quite managed it. I hope that was due to bad mindset, but maybe it was just because, like Afridi, he lacked the brainpower.
