By the end of his career I think it very possible that Mahendra Dhoni will compare favourably with him.

BTW, it's the specifics it is for good reason. :p

I think in a poll of "best human being" Adam might trump Roy by the number of votes there are posters on CW to zero...

Well, with 32 out of 34 (PF's vote being added to the right one) this appears set to be the most conclusive of polls of the lot.

haroon voted for Sangakkara? *gasp* Thought he'd be an avid Gilchrist fan.

i just like kumara's wicket keeping style... i think purely best on wicket keeping kumara is better wicket keeper than gilly...

This is about wicketkeeper-batsmen though, and Gilchrist has been better for longer than Sangakkara, and also at a much higher strike-rate.

Well... perhaps. Some maybe overrate his output in ODIs.

I myself feel he could have done so much more, had he only put his mind to it as Jayasuriya did. I often thought he was more concerned about playing shots than scoring runs, a feeling I've also had with Craig McMillan amongst others. His domestic OD record was actually very good, better than Jayasuriya's, as was his First-Class record.

And as I just said, coincidentally enough in my very previous post, he was IMO a top-shelf wicketkeeper. I held-out hope for him even right up to his very last few games. Sadly, he never quite managed it. I hope that was due to bad mindset, but maybe it was just because, like Afridi, he lacked the brainpower.
