iirc, Australia could have lost the players residence if they didn't act with the owner threatening to kick them out. Or something like that.

It was something a little bit more serious than just an untidy room. More like a trashed room.

As there is more of need for a young spinner to make the ODI team, after Kaneria failure in ODIs. Pakistan seam attack is not great, but has more options then their spin attack. Even if the pitches where more seamer friendly i doubt the Pakistan seamers would have bowled alot.

But really the difference between the two sides in OD series wasn't the balance or quality of the bowling attacks. It was the fact that more of the Pakistan batsmen showed up. This reversed in the FC match, though, as none of the Pakistan batsmen showed up and most of the Australia batsmen did.

Agree with most of what you say, although I dont know why Australia couldn't have included one more OD player in their squad, particularly as MacGill didn't even turn up.

And I will persist with my feeling that the bowling composition did significantly contribute to the series outcome. I think blaming all of the success in the ODI's and the failure in the FC game purely on the batsmen is unrealistic and unfair.

It is a little worrying that a batting line up with 70 Tests experience could fold against our attack so meekly. I expect much better in the final game.

And I see Sami is fit enough to return, so he should boost your seam attack as well.

I don't know what your definition of trashed is, but I'm pretty sure if a landlord found a room defined in that condition they wouldn't give the bond back, and would most likely say that the tenant left the room "trashed".

My definition of a trashed room is one where fixtures or fittings have been damaged.

Yours is obviously something like 'food left lying around'. :huh:

I wasn't talking about 'Rock 'n' Roll Trashed'. Was trying to emphasise that it had more to it than simply the room being untidy.

Which is odd because all the reports, including the one you linked too plainly indicated the three were suspended for having untidy rooms. None of them said for trashing their rooms.
