How come they didn't try for the second, at least a 6 would f tied then.

Gutless England, ****ing gutless.

Well Done Kiwis, but England threw that away as much as you winning it.

Ah well, another oneday comp, another unmittigated failure. Shouldn't be a surprise by now.

I missed the whole of the NZ innings. Did we actually manage to hold our catches today?

As for the batting, if cricinfo are to be believed, KP's dismissal seems the most brainless piece of posturing we're likely to see for a very long time. Thank goodness there's only 3 games in this stage of the competition and we can leave it to the sides that aren't made up of dimwits who look like they've never played a oneday innings in their life.

Good luck to the kiwis, anyway.

That was a sensational game. Well played both teams
You're being gracious, but I'm struggling to see how England completely bottling it yet again counts as 'well played' on their part. Agreed about NZ, obviously.

NZ fielding was awesome today! except for the Taylor's miss. Vincent dive on the boundary to stop four was really spectacular. I am really proud to say I am a true BLACKCAPS fan .... Vettori ROCKS!

Yes, I'm sure
But I was asking about England's fielding ...

Oh SP's always like that, don't mind him ;)
How else can I put it? New Zealand were rubbish, England just completely botched it. First England let the shower of mediocrity recover from 31-4. Then you've got England getting off to a rare good start and they manage to collapse with a ton of wickets left to a bowling attack that couldn't bowl my mum out. If Bond had bowled that over against anyone else it'd have been double figures, against England they scored 4 runs and lost 3 wickets. When England weren't busy botching the game they completely dominated NZ. If NZ can get outplayed for large parts against England they haven't a hope in hell when they come up against a good Twenty20 side.

High standard stuff really, other than Flintoff and Anderson the bowling was dire, fielding was as good as Englands ever is. Maybe even a little better with a super run out from Maddy that probably took away 20 more runs from NZ's total.

We'd just be butting heads if I argued against this but you know my views on the matter, I thought it was a good match, due to us losing so many early wickets, and Bond not striking early on, England should have won. Fantastic bowling from Vettori and the fielding is the only real thing of note on our side of the equation in this victory but Englands middle order Wright aside completely failed.

I must say its a shame England will probably not get to bowl in the semi's. Anderson, Broad and Flintoff would have been formidable.

England just cant seem to win..anything......
They play so well, but when it gets to the part where they have to win they just fall apart.
Its not like they arent a good team, huge talent and all.
What is wrong, is it the fact that England hasnt had a half settled team in any form of the game for years, And imo that is more than half the problem, and one of the only reasons I support Prior.. because England just cant afford to spend another 2 years looking for a wicket keeper.
Mental toughness is another thing, to keep up the intensity the whole way.

Because this just isnt good enough for a team with this kind of talent!

But I state again that a settled team is one of the biggest keys, that and Paul Collingwood needs to have a good talk hard talk to these players :wallbash:

Otherwise I might just have to
