In the third test of the 1901-2 Ashes series, both England openers Maclaren (67) and Hayward (90) were run out in the first innings.Which Test match had both openers being run-out in the same innings, one for a 100+, the other for a 50+ ?
It would appear that I got the wrong occasion, then. Wells seems to have been rather notorious for hitting his wicket. Not easy to guess.
What happened was that Wells hit his stumps before the bowler delivered the ball.
Who is this cricketer ?"has a claim to being the most toothless bowler in Test history..........and had a strike rate of a wicket every 586 balls. On average it took .......... 97 overs to take a wicket. In other words, if he bowled at both ends throughout a five-day Test, the opposition would be only four down at the end of the match ... and they would have scored 1355 runs. "
strike rate in tests ??Question
The Cricketer with a worst Strike rate ever in the history of the game...
Who is this cricketer ?
Nope. I'm looking for a century+ and a fifty+ from the openers who got run-out.In the third test of the 1901-2 Ashes series, both England openers Maclaren (67) and Hayward (90) were run out in the first innings.
Roger Wijesuriya is correct. Didn't know about Raul Lewis...but I am sure Roger (Wijesuriya) will be a relieved man when he learns about Lewis ....Roger Wijesuriya of Srilanka whose only test wicket came in 97.4 overs (584 balls) for 294 runs in the eighties.
However, his strike rate AND average was bettered by West Indian Rawl Lewis whose single wicket cost him 388 runs and came off 126.3 overs (757 balls) !!!
Clue 2 : It was India against EnglandNope. I'm looking for a century+ and a fifty+ from the openers who got run-out.
Clue: It was against England
