I am sorry Gentlemen, Time's up. He did not play in the 70's or 80's or the current decade - he played in the decade that is missing here - the 90's !!

He played for Pakistan in the first half of the 90's

He was a right arm fast medium bowler (classification by howstatdotcom).

Played over 40 international games and barely managed to score a 100 runs IN AGGREGATE in all these games. Averaging well and truly in single digits in either. Not your Sachin, Lara or Ponting....or Inzy for that matter.

He once took four wickets in a match in a test match and once three in a one day game. Not your Wasim, Waqar or Pollock one would say.

He managed to take two catches in more than a dozen test matches he played. But it was in the ODI's that he left his mark as a cricketer.

In thirty games from 1992 to 1996, he managed a record number of catches which no one comes close to beating in as many games.

His name Ata-ur-Rahman. The number of carches...ZILCH.

No cricketer has taken that many catches and taken 'JUST' 30 games to do so. :happy:

I'm thinking Bert Sutcliffe ... most Tests played without being on the winning side, also I think has the highest score by anyone carrying his bat. :unsure:
