***Official*** India in England

I hate watching England play ODI cricket sometimes. I'm hardly a "OMG no sixes in 2 overs, this is boring" cricket fan, but this is just uninteresting. Im doing my Contracts reading whilst watching, and the most exciting reason I've had to lift my head from the book has been when Chawla came on.
Haha yeah, similar thing here.

Chawla seems to have good control and good variation in flight - but his seam position has bene nothing short of horrible so far. It doesn't matter *too* much given he's a leg spjnner, and he could well be doing it deliberately to give himself more control as its an ODI, but he doesn't spin the ball even close to the amount he actually could.

Sachin bowling ****, still a legend though for the simple fact he can bowl what he likes. But he's really bowled some poo today.

Time for Yuvi to have a bowl.

England doing well here.

I'd still like to see Powar in this team. I understand they're grooming Chawla, but India need a genuine wicket taking option for the middle openers. You can't rely on the stuff they're throwing at them at the moment, and then back your batsman to chase whatever down.

Hmm Chawla's action looks very side-on to me, will help his control alot but it isnt ideal for spinning the ball, especially with less than ideal seam-position. And he is a slow, loopy spinner rather than a Kumble so he does need to spin the ball....

Chawla has done pretty well (better than Powar) until this match. He hasn't really gotten much from this pitch either. I'd play both of them, actually.

Not the worst thing to happen - we could do with a few overs of KP.

Cook has cemented his place for the series, and maybe for longer.

England really should have made 300+ against this attack on this deck. Indian bowlers have all had a sameness to them and they needed to be put away. Credit to Cook for making it to 100, but watching him miss the gaps and hitting to fielders made me bored.

There is little carry on the pitch, helping the deliveries stop a bit after pitching, which didn`t help Chawla. Bell has been excellent in pulling of the backfoot from balls that haven`t even been that short. Much better innings than Cook's, and I detest Ian Bell. Indian attack needed a bowler with some pace to unsettle England a bit.

India should definately be a chance assuming England stay around this pace, but then again I don't know loads about Maschareansnadnodia and Bopara. Reckon Broad and Tremmers should do well.

We should get around 270, which will take some getting under the lights. Just hope the rain (which has prevented play all day at the Oval) stays away.

Played Belly! :w00t:

I wonder if two batsmen from England, or anywhere else, have made their maiden ODI 100s in the same innings before.
