Even more interesting that all bar one of these Tests is from the past dozen years. Have 7 of the 8 best Tests ever played really happened in the past decade or so?

As for this one, really can't decide. Hobart seems the slightly greater win, but it was notable that the likes of Ponting/Warne/McGrath etc considered the Adelaide victory the best they'd been associated with.

Yeah, I think there's potential for a new battle with Tests that weren't selected for this one. Some 1902 classics and a couple from the WI v Pakistan series in the late 80s, for example.

Bit harsh on Hoggard IMO. He's effort in that test was outstanding.

Probably not, but they stick more in our memories because many of the members here would have watched them and understood the drama.

Both amazing Tests with huge legacies for Test cricket although the impact of 2005 series personified by Edgbaston is already starting to wane after the most recent Ashes and various English failures since 05. That's all I can think of that sets them apart really, so Tied Test for mine.
