Debatable. He is the Chairman of NCA, a major player in ICL and has achieved a lot more than Tendulkar and likes of him will ever do in their life as a cricketer.
The criticism is fair enough, though I would say an average of 65 says something else, but he does lack a defining innings like 153 from Lara or 281 from Laxman. I would say his 136 could have been it but they fell 12 runs short.Sanz said:He didn't go and shoot his mouth off on his own, he was asked by mediamen and he gave his honest opinion. Why should everyone in the world praise tendulkar when he has been batting like Crap for last 4 years. Kapil is not alone if he feels that way, there are many who feel Tendulkar has not won us enough matches.
That is an amazing statement, to be honest. I am no Tendulkar fanatic and one of the proponents of dropping him after this tour if he doesn't improve (along with Laxman) but I think you might be going too much the other way.Sanz said:Hey If I am going to pick top 5 test batsman from India, Tendulkar wouldn't be one of them for sure despite making 11000 runs and 35 100s.
I would have been surprised but I wouldn't have made a big deal because he is the one that knows what is good for him. So there are two possibilities: he did what he thought was best preparation and he broke down anyway, or he slacked off and didn't care much and thus broke down.Fair enough. Tell me something - would you make a big deal of Sreesanth bowling leg spin in the nets if he had bowled well at the end of the day's play?
I can't see why you are defending him. You should see his bowling in that little session; he was all over the place, lost his run up once, went over and around the wicket two or three times and in general was just faffing around. And if, as Hussain said, he was practicing leg-spin in the nets, that could have contributed to his lack of rhythm.Dravid probably knows more about the situation than either Nasser Hussain or you do - leave it to him. Expecting Sreesanth to learn his lesson and turn it on tomorrow.
Sunny GavasakarDebatable.

IMO, It's not.Debatable.
That is precisely why I am defending him. You don't know if that was the reason and really, neither does Nasser Hussain. Until we get something more substantial, I don't see how you can accuse him of having a poor attitude and being a slacker with no commitment. So far in his career, he has always looked committed. Go ahead and bash his dire bowling but don't draw further conclusions on his attitude.I can't see why you are defending him. No he has not. This is the second time it has happened to him. And his attitude is fiery undoubtedly but he has also lost his cool a couple times, in addition to these types of problems. And if you are unable to bowl like that, the fact that you were bowling leg spin in the nets that morning while the rest of the bowlers were practicing their art (as Bumble said, RP Singh especially looked committed in the nets), I think its very fair to question his attitude. So far in his career, he has always looked committed. 36 in 80s is better than 50s of today.Hey, I love Vishy, but he of the 36 average in away Tests better? Really? That's how much Tendulkar is averaging in his 'crap' last 16 Tests...Vishy averaged that in his entire career.
Breaking down in his run-up? How does that suggest a poor attitude? No he has not. This is the second time it has happened to him.
Tendulkar averaged in the 50s in the 90s too.36 in 80s is better than 50s of today.
The attitude is poor if he isn't practicing properly. Whether his run up is due to the poor attitude or the fact that he just has mental issues is irrelevant. Combine the two - regardless of whether they are related (though they likely are) - and he shouldn't be in the side.Breaking down in his run-up? How does that suggest a poor attitude?

And so then Rahul Dravid (who does make your top five list, hmm) must be an inferior batsman to guys like Ravi Shastri who averaged 36. You think Ravi Shastri is a superior batsman to Dravid?Tendulkar averaged in the 50s in the 90s too.
You just claimed that he has a questionable attitude. Now you are suggesting that he might have mental issues instead. In my opinion, he gets wound up when he loses his rhythm because he takes his game so seriously. Really, it's all speculation and there is nothing to suggest that his run-up issues are definitely related to his poor attitude. Until there is, I'll take a matchwinning seamer in the Indian side with open hands. The attitude is poor if he isn't practicing properly. Because he wasn't working at it when he should have been.Breaking down in his run-up? How does that suggest a poor attitude?
Dunno if you can say that. If the average per wicket had risen by 15-20 each, then yes. But it hasn't risen by that amount.36 in 80s is better than 50s of today.
He is not. But he is a highly underrated batsman. I have no way of proving this but IMO he would have averaged close to 50 in this era and would walk into this Indian team. And so then Rahul Dravid (who does make your top five list, hmm) must be an inferior batsman to guys like Ravi Shastri who averaged 36. You think Ravi Shastri is a superior batsman to Dravid?
Doesn't matter, He brings too much of baggage with him, fails when Indian team needs him most and I am sick of Tendulkar fanatics. Anything to keep them away.Tendulkar averaged in the 50s in the 90s too.
modest in victory, I see.I've got a few India to win the series posts knocking about which you can guarantee I'll be parading about should it happen
