***Official*** India in England

The over/under for the Indian innings is set at 435.5. If they get near that, I think it would be excellent. I am still not convinced though, and if I were not living in US (and unable to bet) I would be very tempted to take the under.
Too risky imo, anything could happen and I could see a middle order collapse just as much as I can see India going on to make 500 from here.

Whatever it takes!!!
good couple of days for India. Let us if we can build on this. And I think Nufan, myself, Pratyush and a few others can lay claim to the best prediction, me thinks... With our predictions on Sachin. Absolute champion, he is. :)

I've got a few India to win the series posts knocking about which you can guarantee I'll be parading about should it happen :p

Yes I agree. :)

Would love it if Sachin goes on to reach triple figures today, the other day I said he'd make 151..

Well, I have to say today is a crucial day in the outcome of the match and the series. England need something like 70-7 today to stay in the contest but with Tendulkar and Ganguly in and Laxman and Dangerous Dhoni to come I can see India getting a 250 Run Lead. For Englands Innings it is time for Strauss to perform again and save the Test Match which I know he an England can do with the quality of our batting lineup.

Great to see Manju having a proper CC argument. :p

For me, if Ganguly wanted to go out yesterday evening he should have - if he'd wanted a nightwatchman they should have sent one out.

Having a nightwatchman wouldn't have helped England at all if Laxman, Dhoni etc. had played well. It doesn't matter whether they're at six, seven or eight, they're still the same calibre of player.

I hope Ganguly has a great innings today. He's done so well to fight back into the side. But, I still think his average of 41 is fairly low for someone of his calibre. Hopefully he can improve it before the end of his career.

Do you think Ganguly is better then Mark Waugh? Awesome player with a similar average.

Mark Waugh and Ganguly both underachieved hugely in Tests IMO.

Domestic averages and obvious skill shows they should have done better.

Amazing, first two overs back and it's still England getting done over by umpires and bad luck - everything possible that can go against England has.

It's absolutely surreal.

England have not been done over by one single Umpiring decision so far - there has been just 1 lbw turned-down that should have been out, and that only cost 30 runs.

There've been two lbws against India that were hitting and turned down and two against England that weren't hitting but were given.

Throw in who the batsmen were and that's a big difference.

So who's the other India batsman apart from Karthik who was clearly out (not brushing the top of the stumps) and given n\o?

If we are talking about tests, no. Waugh was better. Scored more runs and more centuries, I think. Looked better at the crease too.

But Ganguly is a battler, that's for sure.

I certainly agree, both Waugh and Ganguly had the potential to be two of the finest middle order batsmen of the modern era, certainly two of the easiest to watch.

Mark Waugh had a wonderful record for both Essex and New South Wales, averaging 59 and 53 respectively but was never really able to produce the same amount of runs at Test cricket, and an average of 41 shows how much he underacheived.

Sourav Ganguly on the other hand struggled in County Cricket, apart from a 5 match stint with Glamorgan, his efforts with Lancashire and and Northamptonshire were poor. His record for Bengal is pretty good, averaging 55, but an overally First Class record of 43 highlights that he did indeed have weaknesses, weaknesses that weren't generally exploited on the low pitches of India.

Ganguly isn't an underachiever Dicko - he has very rarely made runs against a top class pace attack at test level.

Overrated I say :)

Overrated in a sense, but I don't think you can deny that he has underacheived. The guy has huge potential and hasn't always been able to convert that into runs.

I disagree really. Given his technical difficulties which every man and his dog knows about, I think he's done very well to achieve what he has.
