BTW... for Cricinfo and our dear Kapil Dev and Virender Sehwag pulling Tendulkar up... I hope you shut up.

The criticism directed towards him was quite fair to be honest. Still is. He had a good innings, lets see how he does going forward.

EDIT: What did Sehwag say?

Erm, which criticism was fair?

Sehwag said some thing taking a pot shot at Tendulkar.
"Tendulkar used to be the most explosive batsman in India. We grew up watching his explosive batting. But he is no longer young now and has changed his batting style. So, I think Dhoni and me have to fit into Tendulkar's shoes,"

That is a perfectly valid statement. That's not criticism at all!

I am asking you which criticisms were fair since you were the one who said criticisms were fair. When did I say Sehwag criticised or whether criticisms were fair or not? Also, I was making an entirely different point.

Gotta say I'm loving this. Missed the whole of yesterday's play due to my 21st party, but its great to see the Indian batsman apply themselves so well today.

Love that Karthik scored again, and whilst I was shattered that Sachin got out in the 90s, still delighted to see him score.

Let me expand. I thought taking pot shots at Tendulkar was very poor. Kapil Dev was the person who said that people associated with cricket should up the morale of the team and not target them when Jayawant Lele said that India would lose in Australia 3-0 when Kapil Dev was coach. Now, he comes out regarding Tendulkar in the middle of the tour.

Secondly, cricinfo bringing up 4th inning stats to go into whether Tendulkar is a match winner or not was pretty dire as well. Matches are won more often than not in the first two innings. Tendulkar averages 72, 51 and 50 in the first three innings. How does he fail to be a match winner then? Many players average poor in the last inning including Waugh, Lara. 4th inning score isn't a big criteria to show whether some one is a match winner or not. If any thing, Cricinfo should have written a piece blasting Kapil Dev for being ridiculous this week, first with an out of occassion taking on Tendulkar and second, by speaking out of turn regarding the Indian Cricket League.

Sehwag is a current player and has no business talking about other current players or saying Tendulkar has aged. Let your runs do the talking and concentrate on cricket. Do the job rather than saying that you and Dhoni have to step up.
