***Official*** English Domestic Season 2007

Yeah...he'd probably be second spinner at some and first at others. Still doesn't go away from the matter that Doshi is pretty average. It shows that the state of spin bowling when a spinner of Doshi's calibre would be first choice at some county sides.

Surprised to see Doshi go but I understand Surrey’s thinking and he shouldn’t be guaranteed first class cricket for his not the most penetrative of four day bowlers. They were miss his 20/20 skills no doubt but his batting or fielding won’t be missed I suspect.

Pressure will be on Chris Schofield to perform now.

Younus Khan for the second time this season has been dismissed by Rikki Clarke. Decent start from Surrey, got the openers, the dangerman and Singh still hasn't had a bowl yet.

Scott Styris' spell with Durham will be cut short by a week for fears by New Zealand cricket over his fitness. Pig's contract was meant to run to the end of July but New Zealand cricket want him back ASAP.

Speaking of Styris and Durham, he didn't score many runs today; he only made two before becoming another victim of Mascarenhas.

Seems silly really, he's hardly likely to do much more damage by coming home a week early, especially as his back complaint is an ongoing thing from the last county season.

I assume that's a reference to their home game against Lancashire being abandoned without a ball bowled - New Road is still under water apparently. There has to be a real doubt whether they'll play there again this season.

Now this is a conundrum for the ECB - the game against Kent has been re-scheduled, why shouldn't this one be?

Well yes, there's only been 4 and a half feet of rain in Worcestershire this past day. Would definitely have been possible to play. :p
They abandoned the game almost immediately though. I don't think Worcestershire will be on too many counties' Christmas card lists this year.

Can't see this one getting replayed though, especially after Lancashire declared the pitch fit before the match.

Interesting... Durham only seem to have Onions as their other full-time bowler - Styris and Benkenstein are part-timers.

What is wrong with Plunkett, exactly? Injured during the match?
