Nash to the Windies

Sylvester Joseph, Xavier Marshall, Dwayne Smith (when selected in the test team as a specialist batsman) - the usual dire suspects. I'd still rate someone like Wavell Hinds ahead of him though.
I would rate all three ahead of Nash personally. Joseph seems to score a fair few runs at domestic level and at A level. But can't seem to take his game to another level when his played Internationals. Considering can covert runs from Grade level to FC level, i can't see how his any better.

Marshall and Smith seem to have potential if they get it right. Marshall was brought in the side way too early and his got some technical issues he needs to fix before he gets brough back. But i still thing his a lot better batsmen then Nash.

Smith, like Fiery said, has got a lot more to offer as batsmen then what his shown in the past. If he stops throwing his wicket away he could be half decent.

Players Nash is better then the Adrain(sp) Giffiths and Robert Samuels of the World. A lot of guys the West Indies have brought in recently haven't been that bad, most just get brought in too early. Just look at the back end of Ganga's career.

I think Nash holds the record in Australian domestic cricket in taking the longest to get off the mark. Think he took 89 balls or something against Tasmania to get his first run, and I think Maher got his hundred before Nash had made double figures. Bit cloudy on the exact details, but something similar to that.

He's an excellent fielder and can also bowl handy left-arm medium pace.

cheers. I think Dwayne Smith might come good soon....if he can stop throwing his wicket away
So could about half the people who've ever picked-up a cricket bat.

There's such thing as a "hopeless case" - those who simply don't possess the talent to stop throwing their wicket away.

Smith is very possibly one of.

I'm not writing him off yet

Does the four year qualification period have to be continuous? I know I qualify for dual citizenship, but was wondering if i could represent SA if I suddenly grew five legs and started bowling at 160km/h. I havent lived here for four years in a row yet though.

Well you could probably conceal your living details if your ability sprung from nowhere in that manner... if, that is, you could have your CW account and all it's posts deleted.

Craig gillies should follow him don't see him doing anything for WA unless he can increase his pace to 140 K's/h.
Good leg up for nash, courtney walsh very much behind the move i'd say.Good timing for nash to be over at the world cup to run into dujon and walsh.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nash does well for himself over there. I never really rated him that much, but as EWS says, he will be on par with or better than some other candidates. If he scores runs domestically, you never know. Good luck to the bloke as well, I hope he is successful because in his shoes i am sure I would do the same thing.

Can't really throw Marshall in with the likes of Joseph TBH. Poor structure of WI cricket accounts for his failure so far and a bit due to his attitude. Still young though. He's only like 20 or 21.

Bit unfair on Samuels there. Was one of the few West Indians to do anything decent in his only tour and gets dropped for a reason he hasn't been told. Was hardly going to get another chance no matter how well he did at FC.

It'll be interesting how Nash goes, because he's always struck me as one of the types who has worked his backside off to get as far as he has, which "stereotypically" isn't what you expect of the current Windies side.

Yep, very good point. I read somewhere that Nash had played cricket for a ridiculous amount of weekends in a row before he had some strange injury - he travels the globe to ensure he gets a game every week apparently.
