The avatar challenge

I was thinking more along the lines of if X favourite players of mine doesn't score X amount of runs then I'll have to have something embarrassing as my avatar.

Bell vs Collingwood doesn't really work because they're two of my favourite batsmen.
Aww, what? They're two of your faves... so why not have a challenge involving both? :dontgetit

Exactly, which would mean it was a win-win... whatever happens, one of them's done better.

If he bets with one of his favourites, it's a double-lose if you lose.

I could never hope that either Kallis or Watson did poorly, for example, though. So it just wouldn't work for me. Same probably applied to Geg.

He doesn't, actually, have to hope that either does poorly, that's the even greater majesty of it. Bell could score 452 runs and Collingwood 390... and vice-versa and he'd still have a bet without either of them failing!

Yes, that is a possibility, but he'd naturally be wanting to hope one did poorly while still rooting for at the same time.

Well, your betting expertise > mine, TBH, I have no clue about the pyscolysis of these situations.

You don't rate Collingwood, Richard, so how about a little challenge between us? I.E. if he does/doesn't score a certain amount of runs, or summat...

I'm not losing my avatar because of a load of dropped catches. It'd have to be based on first-chance runs if you wanted to do it.

And remember, I don't call something a chance because it brushed the fingertips of a fielder. :p

That's basically a half-century every innings...

Bit of an iffy call IMO, especially for Bell on the presumption that he'd bat six.

If Kumble averages less than 34 bowling wise in the series., I change your avatar for a month. If he averages 34 or more, you change my avatar for a month. He has to play a minimum of 2 tests.

That is the avatar challenge Goughy and I are having for this series after talking on it on MSN. :)

If either one doesn't achieve it you can pick my avatar for a month after Mitchell's done with it, if I lose the challenge I'm having with him.

Maybe even a sig change could be thought up...

The challenge here is:

Me and Geg will pick a tail-ender each (Kumble, Panesar, you get the jist) on a test by test basis that we think will top score in each test.
E.g. If i choose Kumble and he hits 51 runs in the test and Geg's chooses Hoggard who hits 23, then i win the first rubber out of the 3. Whoever wins the best of 3, chooses an avatar for the other for a month.
