Geoff Barnett - as probably the only first class player in the Can vs Ned game has had a shocker. Out for 1 in the first innings and run out for a duck in the second... Anyone know how he came to be run out??

Interesting also to see Szwarczynski take a couple of key wickets in the Canada innings. I can honestly say I didn't even know he bowled. What does he bowl? Dibblies or non-spinners?

I think he bowled a bit in the World Cup - medium pace IIRC.

Canada faltering here at 131-5 needing another 140. If they lose they have only themselves to blame; their target should have been a lot easier.

Crash to 225; the 33yo Panchal got four wickets in the second innings. Jonkman ended with only three in the match, still rate him tho...

Seemed like a dumb declaration by Canada in 1st innings. They had osinde at 60 no when they delared on the 2nd day at 9 down with only a small lead

Jonkman impressed me in the WC, even though he was fairly ineffective. Definitely something to work with IMO - could do with more muscle though to get his pace up a bit though - he reads a lot slower than his action suggests he should, which is never good.

Prince EWS, what speeds was Jonkman bowling at?. At the WC when I watched the fastest he was bowling was late 120kphs (78-79mph).

Yeah, that's what I'm referring to. At the World Cup, he was bowling around 120-125 most of the time, and his action and run up really suggets he should be a bit quicker than that.

Not a big surprise to see Canada dominating against the United Arab Emirates, disappointing with the bat from Geoff Barnett though. Welsh ended up with 7 scalps, previous to the game he had never taken one for Canada.

Henry Osinde really impressing me. Last match he took 7 wickets for 132 and scored his first FC 50 batting @ 11. Looks like a decent bowler and has taken a few wickets already in this match.

Big win for Canada - an innings and 228 runs. Welsh took 12-93 in the match - his first wickets in first-class cricket, in his second match. I wonder why he wasn't in the WC squad, not eligible then perhaps?

Nah, he'd played an ODI against Bermuda in August. Then he rejoiced in figures of 8-0-68-0.

UAE can't play pace abroad.

Is Ryan ten Doeschate going to be available for the game against Scotland? Essex have a Pro40 game against Worcestershire on the 2nd of August, the day that the game against Scotland is scheduled to begin.
