When you are paying high amount on your cricketers and when the expectation out of them is very much higher (considering they are highly talented guys), 6th place is not for what they are paid for and its not for what average Indian cricket fan expects out of them.

We should start thinking 6th out of 9 (the creamy teams) .....as Bang, Zim, Ken,,,sides must be thought as a get over teams...(hardly they surprise and that would not change your ranking a big margin)
He's not denying that though. There's no doubt India should probably be ranked higher than they are. But that doesn't mean they are at the bottom - because "at the bottom" simply doesn't mean that. Pretty simple concept, really. India may be under-achieving, however they are not at the bottom as suggested.

And before you reply saying the exact same thing you've said in your last three posts, sit and think about the concept of being on the bottom for a little while.

I was referring to 'pretty much at the bottom" and not 'at the bottom' as you are saying. They two differs a lot
6th out of 9 is pretty much at the bottom

There are 12 teams in the ODI rankings. India are 6th. That is not "pretty much at the bottom." It is quite poor given the talent India possesses and they really should be higher, however they are not pretty much at the bottom.

Hardly there are 9 really competitive sides and being 6th placed is 'pretty much at the bottom"

Being pretty much at the bottom of the competitive sides and being pretty much at the bottom of the rankings is a totally different matter though.

I could say Australia are right at the bottom of the really really good teams in theory, but it doesn't mean they are at the bottom of the rankings.

I know that..read my previous posts
They are still halfway in the rankings, even though they may be "pretty much at the bottom" of competitive sides, however JustTool didn't mention anything like that in his intial post.

India have never been a consistent team in odi cricket and they are a overhyped team, they have been playing some awful odi cricket for some time now and hence their ranking is completly justified. So yeah one can say that they are probably playing the worst odi cricket among the top 6 sides in world cricket.

Andrew reckons that 5.30 pm is the latest they can start for a 20-overs a side game.

Their position is justified. But I think that if Ganguly can sustain his form (see sig), him, Dravid, Tendulkar, Yuvraj and Dhoni should give England a run for their money.

O'Brien bowling first change again?

FFS Ireland, he is a dire bowler. I suppose he could be useful bowling an over or two in the middle overs, however Johnston is a superior bowler for the first change role, surely!

Can anyone lucky enough to be getting coverage of this tell me what Fourie is like as a bowler? He seems fairly economical thus far in his career.
