***Official** West Indies in England***

Terrible knock from Strauss, played pretty much the same way in the first innings, only difference here is that the West Indies bowled a reasonably decent line to him instead of the leg-side trite he was served in the first innings.

Seriously, for an opener to average low 20s in a home series against one of the worst sides in the world is pretty abysmal.

Upcoming series against India should be quite defining for Panesar imo. Can he keep his average below 30 or will it as you have said go up to 35+. I have to say Panesar has had a lot cheap wickets in this series.
If the quicks had consistently done their job properly, Panesar would barely have had to bowl. Or to put it another way, if Panesar hadn't been as effective as he has, we could have been seriously embarrassed against some seriously mediocre opposition.

Obviously the India series will be a much bigger challenge. In a way, playing India in England is the worst of both worlds for our spinners - you're up against (probably) the best players of spin in the world in conditions that generally don't help you much. That being said, he's turned in some good performances against other Asian sides in England, so he may well be OK.

I'd have to go with Monty as well for MOS. Chanderpaul is equally deserving for being the only guy (along with Bravo to some extent) willing to put up any sort of resistance. It's too bad his performances weren't rewarded in at least one test.

Sidebottom's my runner-up for MOS. I thought he bowled really well throughout the series and along with Panesar was the most consistent bowler for England. With Flintoff out he's probably cemented a place for the next test series.

Did you invest in an England win in the end, btw?
Eventually did when they came back out to start play today and Gayle had gotten out, so odds weren't as generous as yesterday when it was 2.87, and when I wanted to first get on, but saw an account balance of 0.00  Still a win is a win.

I could have taken a drive to the TAB, but that would require non-laziness lol. Plus the last 3 times I've thought of going to drive down to the TAB to make a sports bet, I have chosen not to due to, again, laziness, and its turned out that I would have lost, and lost a fair bit. So I use it as an indicator lol.
