Will think about it, cheers. But Tharmi will probably kill me if I add more to the list...
You do realise for the rest of those teams you are going to have to do your own stats. Im justing doing the side by the ones who have all their stuff submitted first now.

Colts Tour of Australia - Part One

After drinking too much in between games the Colts had to cut their English tour short as they run out of money. With the Colts player still not match fit the boys moved onto Australia, with Toohney New funding the Colts Australia leg of the their overseas tour.

The tour started with a three match FC series against fellow D2 side NSW. The Colts lead by New South Walesmen Trent Johnston claim a 2-1 series win. The Colts batting in the series was led by youngster Thiru Alwis, but he was the only batsmen who was able to keep out New South Wales superstar Q Moore, who finished as leading wicket taker with 20 wickets. NSW batting was lead by Virender Shewag who was NSW only batsmen to average over 35.

The Colts finished off their Sydney leg of the tour a one off OD match. In a high scoring match Colts won by 12 runs, thanks largely to aggressive hundred by Asif Zabir (140 off 132 balls). NSW got close in the chase with former Colts batsmen Steven Cook scoring an amazing hundred (160 off 153 balls). But the opener lacked to support to guide NSW home.

Colts now move onto Perth to play WA in a 5 match FC series and 3 match OD series.

Colts Tour of Australia - Part Two

After a hard fought series against NSW, Colts travelled to the other side of Australia to play the might for Western Australia in a 5-match FC series. After taking the lead in the first game one, Colts were brough back down to earth with WA taking out the next three games to win the series. In all three games Colts pushed WA hard but couldn't keep up with WA over four innings. In Game 5 Colts got some revenge with a comfortably 10 wicket win. The main destroyer of the Colts was H Jenkins who finished with 31 wickets @ 13.26 in 5 games.

Colts and WA will now play each other in a 3-match OD series.

Colts Tour of Australia - Part Three

The weakness in Colts One Day campaign was on show at WACA ground over the weekend. As Twentyman and co took the Colts' bowling attack apart like a bunch school boys. In all three matches WA scored over 300, giving the Colts an embrassing 3-0 hiding. With Victoria and Queensland officials watching in the stands it seems that Colts' dreams of a Division One One Day title are just a dream.

Colts now return to home to Sri Lanka with a lot of questions to be asked. :(

International Debutant
WA manager Chris Butler was thrilled with the sides performance in the recent series with the Colts.

While there are many areas to work on - 4day batting mainly - the performance of the OD was most pleasing. WA are looking to get out of DIV 3 after being relegated with the restructure of the competition. Taking on a side with thoughts of taking out DIV 1 was always going to be a big challenge. The batters stepped up, with a member of the top 4 scoring a big century in every game.

The consistancey with ball shown by the newley appointed captain H Jenkins was also pleasing. Jenkins took 31 wickets @ 13.26 and led from the front the whole series.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Yorkshire 2nd's restore some pride.
After the 1st teams suffered defeat in both forms, the 2nd XI hit back with two convincing wins.
Yashpal and Laney were the stars, giving the Yorkshire selectors something to think about ahead of the season.

NSW trade blows with WA

Western Australia and nsw played 2 fc matches and 2 one day games, at both the waca and scg. both teams played well with some very pleasing performances for WA especially. With both team srich on history and pride at stake even though these where just friendlies the way these games where played show the hunger from both teams and management respectively.

Both teams played well with some surprise results i am sure in both forms.

here are the scorecards!

NSW Tour Western Australia

WA Manager C Buts invited the NSW boys over for a 10 match one day and fc series at the WACA. With both managers building on good games in certain areas it was a good excuse to get the finer methods of both sides set for the upcoming friendly and season openers. The wicket played really well in all the fixtures and the bowlers really struggled in the one day games as batsmen took to the conditions and really made the bowling of both sides really think and evaluate there one day line ups.

The games where played in great sportsmanship and both managers although have a bit of work to do within there certain teams and forms, Both managers have become close good friends and i am sure that the word player trading after the season was heard to have been mentioned in the teams final dinner before NSW flew out for there next tour. The players who dominated in certain forms where M Parmer and J Symes for nsw in fc, and K Lokuarachchi. In the one day game H Tewntyman was superb averaging over 100, J Rudolph was also in good form. with the ball there wasnt too much to over and both teams will need to rectify that come the season opener.

NSW show class in good 1st up game

NSW manager Bugsy Malone was happy and delighted that his team has come from behind to win the first pre season friendly. I bloom Bowled really well as did N Randika. When needing 297 to win the nsw batsmen put a good performance in after getting off to a shaky start @ 1 - 0 to get 3 - 297 and take the victory. Manager Bugsy Malone is happy but doesn't want to get carried away knowing that there is along season and anything can happen in this sensational competition.

Yorkshire 2nd XI show class

After his first games in charge as Yorkshire 2nd XI, Manager David Pares showed his delight as his team comfortably beat the colts twice while the 1st team failed. "The boys are all really up for it this season, everyone wants to make an impact to catch the eye of the First Team manager" he commented, with Laney and Yashpal putting together some quality knocks.

"Yorkshire 2nds are not here just to take part this season, they're here to win titles whilst picking up useful experience along the way"

And indeed with their mix of raw talent along with the experience of some older players who can blame them for being very excited about the season ahead...

NSW make it 2 from 2 early on

NSW started there friendlies campaign with a close win over there rivals Victoria in a good hard fought match.NSW batted first and on what looked like a good pitch got a pretty reasonable target. J Symes was the pick of the bats with an unbeaten 91*(92). The skipper Kallis also batted well for his 41(43) until he was involved in a horrible run out and a magic bit of fielding. The all rounding spinner N Randika made a very important run a ball 37(36), also taking 3 wickets in the nsw tight win.

Bugsy Malone although happy was still being very reserved with his teams start to the pre season and said we are along way from becoming a threat in any competition and will be working hard to utilize these friendlies before the season begins in a little over 2 weeks.

Monaghan stars in low scoring thriller

The pre season friendlies started off with a thriller in Karachi, as the home side managed to steal victory by a solitary run from their fellow Division 2 side Hampshire. Karachi opened proceedings, and after looking promising at 4/103, collapsed to be all out for 118. Experienced opener Mark Jenkins was the only batsmen to make any kind of score, his quickfire 38 the only thing saving Karachi from complete embarrasment.

After losing 4 quick wickets to opening bowler J Bennett (3/18), Hampshire steadied, thanks to contributions from the lower order. Despite a steady loss of wickets, Hampshire looked to be in control of the match. Enter Brad Monaghan. The young allrounder, who only joined the club last year from the rookie list, took the last 4 wickets to fall, and finished the match on a hat-trick as Karachi snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.

Coach Myles Hutchinson, while happy with the win, did not want his side to get to excited by the win. "It was good to win a game which could have gone either way easily, and its good to see the boys never give up, but we have to be realistic about what happened today. Our batting failed, quite extravagantly, and we can't be relying on our bowlers time and time again."

Court named captain

Eagles announce 2nd XI skipper

The Free State Eagles have appointed Z Court to the captains role within the 2nd XI this year, a decision that was smiled upon by the entire club. "We feel that Court has the ability to do the job, not only tactically but by also providing plenty of runs for the bowlers to work with" said the franchise manager Zac Ritchie. Court was a star for the Eagles in their pre season games and will look to continue that strong form as the 2nd XI take on rivals the Northern Titans in their first competition game. "Yeah I'm stoked to get the position, but obviously I'll have the help of a great side and the support of my management which will make the task much easier" Court said.

WCC goes Twenty20

World Club Cricket management announced today that this season's 2nd XI cup competition will be played in the Twenty20 format. This season will be the first time in WCC history that 2nd XI sides will take part in a cup format. The 2nd XI cup will start in two weeks time, with the first matches played in between the 3rd One Day round and 4th First Class round.

After calls last season from various managers and fans last season for a Twenty20 Cup, the new management team at WCC headquarters have decided to use this new competition to test the potential that is Twenty20 Cricket. With all cup matches played mid week WCC will be looking to use this format to attract working spectators. So these fans can come to the cricket after finishing work and still be able to see a full game of cricket.

In the past mid week cup competitions, have struggled to gain sufficient support from fans. Last season a group format was used and didn't achieve any significant increases in the crowd numbers. This season both cups will go back to the old knockout format. The main cup will continue this season in the 50 over format, but there are talks depending of the success of the Twenty20 format in the 2nd XI Cup, both cups may use the shorten format in the future.
