Hot Spot is awesome IMO. Won't hear a word against it.

They did something pretty cool with it during the CB series; one batsman had just come out, and his helmet was just your average blacky-blue, but the helmet of the other batsman who'd been out there for a fair while was bright white, was a pretty cool way to show how hot it was.

Really, I know that Sidebottom was selected for just the one Test because of various reasons, but if Harmison and Plunkett get another go bowling rubbish and Sidebottom gets dropped, that'll be absolutely dire.

On another note, booooo rain. And on another note, where is GIMH?
Bank Holiday over here, so I'd just he's lumbered with something family-orientated.

& totally agree WRT your first point. More to bowling than the ability to hit 85mph+ on occasion.

Id imagine sky paid alot for the camera for Hot-Spot. So you cant blame them for wanting to get their monies worth!

Anyway zero chance of Harmlessone being dropped anytime soon, remember he has 'nothing to prove'
Yes, I'd forgotten that. Plus he has "done enough", even if it was three years ago.
At time of writing, as SB now has 8 wickets for the match, that would make Plunkett the favourite to go if Hoggard is fit for Old Trafford. Cue Harmison batting at number 8? The selectors must be praying that Hoggard's niggle lasts for a couple more weeks.

Nine was the first to use the hot spot for the recent Ashes weren't they? I remember Eddie sent some people to France to get it or something like that iirc. Probably the same machine leased out I'd imagine.

Oh, ffs, honestly if this carries on, they've got to drop Harmison, it's getting beyond a joke. A pitch that's doing everything, against a clueless team, and he still can't trouble them:@

Meh, Harmison never looks like taking a wicket, it's rather painful. Wouldn't mind seeing abit of Collingwood here, thoughts?

Yeah, would have to be nearly as good an option as Harmison in these conditions even on the rare occassion that Harmison isn't dire. Worth a go for sure - or even Bell perhaps who gets a bit more swing than Collingwood from what I've seen.

Harmison is boring me now. I am convinced that he has no idea where he is bowling the ball.

I never thought I would say this but... bring Plunkers back on!!

Is this the worst side (barring BD and Zim) to visit UK in the last 40 yrs?
Yeah and they are getting the thrashing that is expected. Hopefully India will at least be competitive. Although I can't even see them getting 20 wickets that often.

This should be a blessing in disguise for Harmison, all his faults with the ball are being exposed and there is no Ashes victory (2005) or Ashes loss (2007) to overshadow it. He needs biomechanical tweaking when there is time and I for one am glad that more people are aware that his problems are not just mental.
