My spies tell me Tom Smith took a 10fer in the seconds against Surrey this week including 7/40 in the second innings bowling 19 overs unchanged.

Hopefully he'll get his place back in the first XI soon

Durham doing well against Yorkshire, making 481 in the first innings, a lead of 88. And now they have Yorkshire 18/3 (Onions 2 wickets, Gibson 1)

Worcestershires season goes from bad to worse :@
Yeah, it's not looking good for you guys is it? I think Worcs are in the position at the moment where they're not good enough for Division 1, but are too good for Divison 2, so you could just be bouncing up and down until something changes.

Zummerset win at Taunton:-O

So there must have been summat in the pitch.

Tresco didn't bat though, does anyone know why?

CL White 540 runs @ 90, 3 hundreds.

Is there any point for teams to travel to Taunton? Couldn't the ECB hand out eleven points in advance?
Given he is playing in the same team as Langer probably not :p
I'd like to see the pitch inspectors travel there. No way is that wicket less damaging to English cricket than the ones that give the bowlers too much help. Ditto the Oval, actually.
Look, I'm getting really pissed off about this. Somerset spent thousands to get an outside contractor in to re-lay the pitch at the end of last season in the hope of making it more bowler friendly; until a couple of weeks ago, there was very little rain on it, which never helps. Also, it's going to take a good year for the pitch to settle down properly. So please will you hold off on criticism?

Anyway, Somerset have just beaten Gloucs by 8 wickets on that pitch :D :D

That'll be Frosty for you :D And the rain

No idea....I reckon Langer wanted to give the younger guys a chance at getting the winning runs - they had only about 172 to chase....

Well lets hope so, he's in my fantasy cricket team.

I think Cam White only scores so many runs at Taunton, because even his forward defensives go for six. Thats a problem they can't really do much about though, I suppose.

I still think Caddy would do better for England then some of our errant seamers.

Don't make me go on about a certain team's trip to Wembley.

Disappointed to see Kent not manage to finish Hampshire off today in spite of Arafat's best efforts, but it shows that the pitch has got a lot easier to bat on since the first day, and that Hampshire had no interest in pursuing a win today. It's not bad to have had the best of a draw (even if we did lose out on batting points) and to have had 4 separate players score centuries against an attack consisting of players of the calibre of Warne, Clark, Tremlett and Mascarenhas.

Scotland beat Lancashire in the only play of the day. Which I find mildly amusing, if only for the irony of having the best weather in the country, for once, costing the Old Trafford team.

I meant to post about that - I was pissed off because I thought initially that they'd drop points from an almost certain victory being rained off... then they went and lost anyway. Bonus. Although they weren't really a threat for winning the group anyway.
