Haha, wonder if that's happened before. Number 4 out to bat without a wicket lost.

HRG writes in once more to say that this is the first time that both openers have retired in the history of Test cricket. Over a 100 years and it took the heat and humidity of Mirpur to do it.
There we go.

A very good day for Indians today, making 326 for no loss. Both Karthik and Jaffer should be ready for tomorrow(i hope).

well played india..hope the openers r back tomm!
Mind you with Dravid and Sachin at the crease they could have a very long wait And if its any consolation for BD, even mighty Australia once "achieved" a day where there were more retiremenets than wickets - Jamaica '99 (Collins was the retirement then Lara and Adams bated through)

Anyone know how many times a batting side has gone through the opening day without losing a wicket?

I remember Marsh and Taylor doing it against England in 1989 ... or was it '93?

While it is tempting to wish for India getting another 400 runs on day 2 and declare at 725+, I hope they dont make a hash out of trying to accelerate the run rate. Exactly this has been the tripping point for this Indian team against this Bangla team in the last two months.

WC: Saurav & Yuraj were going OK, then all fell down. 1st test, 1st innings 295-3 to 390-8, 2nd innings 100-6. 1st ODI except for Kathik & Dhoni and actually 2nd ODI too saw a bit of a disappointment at the finish (220-4 with 10 overs to go should've been more than 300 and 284-8 was a bit tame).

From this start (325-0) anything less than 700-750 will be a disappointment. Looking for tons from Dravid & Karthik (almost there) and atleast one more from the 3 remaining bats.
