The side has been named for tonight's FC clash with Black.

This is an extremely important game for us. If we can win we prove ourselves against the 'biggest name' team in the comp and could give us a break on the table. Important for out batsmen to carry on their starts and our bowlers to bowl tightly.

Good luck.

Damn you Simon, when you get good form, you score 4 100's. When I do, I just get fast 50's and near misses! Damn!

Congrats on killing 1000 by the 3rd quarter tho! Nicely handled! Now let's kill Red!

any chance of a game?? :)
You will most likely get another chance if there is an international season this season. You're not far off from the OD side either. Just keep up the enthusiasm and supporting the Colts. Even I'm not getting a game in the OD arena, and it hurts big time. Just need to put in big grade performances, to make it impossible not to pick us.

Yeah. Without being an arrogant wanker, that's pretty much how I've gone from being in no sides at the start of the year, to both FC and OD by the halfway point.

Oh, and I'm on the selection panel. ;)

That's nothing special...Half the team is on the selection panel...:p

We've made one change to our FC side for the team to face Bangladesh.

There was a lot of discussion around the selection of this side. We wanted to give the fringe players a chance to show their worth and maybe crack into the starting XI in the future, however with so many players pushing for test selection we felt it would be unfair to leave them out.

The team selected has Rai coming in for McNamara.

Colts player ratings for game against Red

S.G. Fitzsimmons: Continues to dominate the Dev League with his amazing batting. Brought up his 1000 run for the season in this match and continues to lead from the front for the Colts. 8/10

J. B. Malthus: Disapointing game for Malthus. The word 'consitency' must keep echoing around his head, because he just can't gain any. 3/10

D.P. Towns: Towns is declaring his intention that he wants to play test cricket. His second innings to ensure the Colts victory and to lead from the front was tremendous. 8.5/10

C. R. Butler: Butler is struggling to find runs, and must be running out of patience. 2/10

S. Jasotharan: Returned to form with a fine half century that put the tiring Recd bowlers on the back foot. Needs to continue to build his form if the Colts are to stay on top of the table. 4/10

W.A. Kerr: Needs to score runs in the first innings. 1.5/10

M.W. Wilson: Fantastic bowling in the first innings, when conditions were to his favour, also a handy innings in the first innings. 5/10

N.R. Hancock: Was at his devestating best in the first innings and set up the Colts' win.7/10

J.P. McNamara: Although the pitch wasn't to his liking, chipped in with key wickets. 3.5/10

K.S. Wright: Bowling very well at the moment and looks to have his rythum back, a big haul is not far away. 5/10

G.M. Thomas: With his captain set up the Colts victory with 4 wickets when Red could have got a mammoth total. 6/10

Player Points:

Towns 3 (7)
Fitzsimmons 2 (11)
Hancock 1 (2)

S. Jasotharan: Fantastic innings from 'Jaso'. Best innings in Colts colours, the only disapointing aspect is he got out and didn't carry his bat. 9/10

D.P. Towns: Might stay away from the selectors' axe for the time being, but will need runs very soon.3/10

A.S. Das: Disapointing. 1/10

C.R. Butler: Best innings for the Colts in Oders, would have been disapointed he didn't get the hundred. 6/10

P. Bharat: Having a good season, but couldn't convert on this occasion. 3/10

W.A. Kerr: Duck! 0/10

N.R. Hancock: Reasonable with the ball, but the Colts needed more from him with the bat. 2.5/10

M.W. Wilson: A rare failure for Wilson in the One day game. 07/10

T.V. Weber: Bowled very well, but given we know his capabilities with the bat, needed to score more. 5/10

T. Bochat: Expensive, but continues to show he knows how to take wickets, and again was very good with the bat. 7.5/10

J.P. McNamara: Another solid performance. 5/10

Player points:

Jasotharan 3
Bochat 2 (10)
Butler 1 (3)

Colts player rating for game against Black

S.G. Fitzsimmons: Played a vital role in ensuring the Colts didn't lose the game. Having a blinder of a season and is sure to break Colts batting records. 8.5/10

J. B. Malthus: Hung around importantly in the second innings, but will be disapointed he got out. 3.5/10

D.P. Towns: Importantly batting for a long time, like 'Howler' will be disapointed he got out.4.5/10

C. R. Butler: Should be happy with his second innings effort. Hopefully the time at the crease will give him confidence. 5/10

S. Jasotharan: Looks ready to crack a big innings. Shouldn't be wasting his good form though. 4/10

W.A. Kerr: Growing with every innings he plays, but needs to learn to score runs in the first innings. 5/10

M.W. Wilson: Disapointing game for the allrounder and didn't really make an impact. 2/10

N.R. Hancock: Important innings in the first innings and claimed important wickets.7/10

J.P. McNamara: Fairly disapointing effort from McNamara. After a great start to his FC season, seems to be dipping in form, but will be given a few more chances. 2/10

K.S. Wright: Looked to be in good rythum, but couldn't get the pegs. 1.5/10

G.M. Thomas: Spectacular as ever. His 9 wickets for the match came at a perfect time with test match selection just around the corner. 10/10

Player Points:

Thomas 3 (7)
Fitzsimmons 2 (13)
Hancock 1 (3)

Feels good to grab hold of a chance, especially against an international squad. Hope I can put some of my decent grade form to use and nail a spot for the rest of the season. Looking forward to the challenge :)

Edit: Not holding my breath for a big bag of wickets though, considering we've got a pace attack preparing to tear through the Deshi's and push for test selection. Might nab a tailender that one of them can't be arsed with if I'm lucky :p

Jeez, I just can't seem to get that economy rate down, it's starting to hurt the team. At least my batting makes up for it a little...

Yes, would be nice. However, I think you're a good chance of the test side. Your form is making it almost impossible not to select you for the Cricketweb XI.
