well thats not Hargreaves will be required for, United already have Scholes & Carrick. Hargreaves will be United version of Makelele or Guttuso.Someone who can create something is more of a must.
Thats true about Vidic & Evra but before they came over they did have big reps especially Vidic, but its not often that a player of Hargreaves quality is ever available we in England took a very long time to recognise it but its obvious & United have been right to pull straps to get him.I'm sure there are more than we might know. I don't think many people saw Vidic or Evra coming, let alone becoming as good as they are now.
Decent player form what i've seen i.e (the world cup last year & United's CL matches vs Roma) but i can't see what would have made him a better buy that Hargreaves. Added to the fact that he's Italian & not many of their best players ever decide to come & play in England. My personal ideal addition would be De Rossi, although I can't see it happening. He's fighting for all the big cups and is at the team he grew up playing for.
Well mate if we are going to retain the premiership & attain any hopes of winning the CL acquiring all 3 players together are of equal importance AFAIC.Hargreaves far from a must for me, any quality CM/DM will do and there are probably cheaper options. Need a striker and a winger just as much, I'd say..
No, not "end of" in the overall situation (although on the day, it obviously was, due to the wrong decision being made) - Essien made a tackle on a player with the intention of bringing him down and he had no chance of getting the ball at all. So, penalty. The momentum thing happened after this, so that bit doesn't really matter.I'm fairly sure there's no such thing as "momentum" in football, otherwise all kinds of fouls would be excused with that very reason. Cech had the ball, Jiggs clattered into him, foul on the keeper. End of.
Where were they on Saturday?United already have Scholes & Carrick.
Separate issue to the one I was addressing. Jiggs did not score because he fouled the goalkeeper; moreover once the ref had decided to let him have the goalscoring opportunity rather than award a penalty (regardless of any merit or not that the shout might have) he couldn't then go back & retrospectively award a penalty. No, not "end of" in the overall situation (although on the day, it obviously was, due to the wrong decision being made) - Essien made a tackle on a player with the intention of bringing him down and he had no chance of getting the ball at all. The advantage rule is stupid, but then football has always been balanced towards the cheat, the perpetrator etc.Separate issue to the one I was addressing. lol i managed to missed the most exciting part of the whole game, only saw what happend on replay. Giggs just seemed to barge Cezch over the line, it looked like the ball crossed the line too. Was free kick given to chelsea or somthing or did the linesman think it didn't cross the line.![]()
If you mean the Jiggs "goal" then it was never fair; he basically pushed Cech over the line. Might've been a goal in the 50s, but not today.
big soccer.com (no space) is alright, has a lot of members and has club-specific forums for several countries. Obviously if you just want a forum about a certain club then there are better sites around (the Café for United, for example).Does anyone know any good Soccer forums? I'm interested in joining one, so i can learn more about the game.
Hmm, would have thought the ref would be able to though. To be honest there was absolutely no way the linesman could tell the ball was over the line or not from the body positioning of Cech.
Well Cech would have probably hindered the linesman, but you should still have been able to see the ball from in front of the goal. Not completely sure where the ref was stood so I'm not sure if Giggs would have blocked his view or not.How exactly?
The ball was hidden to pretty much everyone by Giggs and Cech's bodies.
ill attempt to get up and watch the game so yeah should be better than the FA Cupgo the reds tonight guys, not for the club but atleast to fly the countries flag......carn the reds!
