Boring game but got to commend the blue's after the injuries they suffered all season to still win two trophies is good work. All they need is another solid central defender to as back-up to Terry/Carvalho (presumably that will be Alex from PSV) & another striker (even though i don't think that would be necessary) and don't have so much injuries they will be pretty hard to stop next season.

For my boys Hargreaves is a Must since even though Fletcher & O'shea are good squad players & have definately improved a great deal this season, United need some top-class backup behind Scholes/Carrick. Also the introductions of Nani, Bale & hopefully another striker (either Owen or KVH) will be perfect additions.

Terrible game, the reserve game the other week back had more entrainment. Only bright spot was the magnificent performance by Michael Essien.

I gave Scholes MOTM for that tackle on Fat Frank, I called it just before it happened too.

Was boring, neither team excited, and it's a real shame too. Ronaldo not using his pace more than once, few shots, lots of passing (much of it poor) and the only good thing about it was the odd tackle. Ah well. CL final coming up, might give a bit more.

Hargreaves far from a must for me, any quality CM/DM will do and there are probably cheaper options. Need a striker and a winger just as much, I'd say.

Can not think of many. They are surprisingly a rather expensive commodity unless you want the cheap hatchet man akin to the standard of Nicky Butt. Javier Mascherano, will cost Liverpool a significant amount and as we know the versatile Michael Essien, Mahamadou Diarra and indeed if you will call him a CM, Obi-Wan Kenobi were not cheap. Hargreaves price is greatly overvalued for his ‘English’ but Ferguson would be hard pressed finding many Premiership ready alternatives.

I'm sure there are more than we might know. I don't think many people saw Vidic or Evra coming, let alone becoming as good as they are now.

My personal ideal addition would be De Rossi, although I can't see it happening. He's fighting for all the big cups and is at the team he grew up playing for.

Wasn't really boring for me but I guess that's because I was too into it. Not spectacular though for sure.

Pretty clear when they freeze it and put a line across that he was onside during the one with Ronaldo.
Not when the ball was played.

Scholes' pass was actually after the freeze and he was beyond the defender at that point.

His own fault for going near the ball though as Ronaldo (who incdientally massively underperformed yesterday, almost as dire as Carrick) was onside and could've got to it.

Didn't see the match, saw the highlights, does seem a rather dire game judging by what got included in the "highlights", however we did have what looked to be a good goal disallowed in addition to what Scaly is referring to (didn't see that bit).

If you mean the Jiggs "goal" then it was never fair; he basically pushed Cech over the line. Might've been a goal in the 50s, but not today.

Every pundit I've seen talk about it said it was either a goal or a penalty. Giggs 'pushing' him over the line can be placed with momentum, which means it isn't a foul, which means goal (I think?). But most of them seem to be saying that rather than a goal, it should have been a penalty, as Essien tackled Giggs in the box when he was 2-3 meters away from the ball (and Essien being on the opposite side of him means he was also 4-5 meters away from the ball, meaning he clearly had no chance of getting the ball at all, hence an illegal tackle).

Either way, I think SAF got it dead-on when he said it would be a tight game, and neither side deserved to win or lose. A crap, tight game. :p
