Can't say I agree with that. Maybe if it their day and also not MacGill's day but neither of them have shown anywhere near the same level of Test match performance.
But they have not played enough Test Matches for comparison ...As I said on their day..they can match anyone. They are not ordinary.

Can't say I've seen much of Lokuarachchi in action, but I definitely like Bandara. Even so he's not really all that great. And to say that these bowlers can match MacGill on their day is a bit of a facetious argument because neither of them have had the kind of great performances as MacGill has had against the quality of opposition he's faced. Without a doubt one can say that both of them have great potential, but from their performances so far its impossible to say that they can do what MacGill can.

I think JASON is really underrating Macgill as a spinner, he has got superb record in test match cricket and its only because he was competing for a spot with the great Shane Warne that MacGill wasn't able to play more test matches than he has.

In the current scenario i dare say after Murali, MacGill is easily the best spinner in test match cricket.

Not sure how you can say MacGill is the second best spinner in Test match cricket when he hasn't actually played a Test in nearly 13 months.

good point that....MacGill needs to play more cricket TBH...we dont actually know if he still has what it takes to be an international cricketer....and b4 anyone says that he's done well in domestic cricket...Mark Ramparakash has also done well in domestic cricket...doesnt mean he should be in the team for england ATM

.
Yes, agree...if you check Mcgill's and Warne's records when they played together in Tests, McGill actually has more wkts and a better strike rate than Warne.

Personally I'd go for Bandara, although I haven't seen much of the other guy.

Nice to see no P.Jayawardene in the side, hopefully the selectors go with a similar side and give Tharanga the gloves. :D

How much keeping has Tharanga done at first class level, just out of interest? I know Dilshan can keep as well, but you'd probably prefer Tharanga to do it if they were reasonably even in their glovework given the fact that Dilshan can bowl as well. I'm fairly sure they'll give Jayawardene the gloves anyway though.
