Yep, on both counts. Bowling has been all over the place at Cook (strangely was actually a bit better at Strauss) and if KP stays there, well... we might even be on track for another Edgbaston 2005.

Sure, but what struck me was how quickly Cook's scored for someone who's supposed to be relatively sedate. Says a lot about his shot selection, and his ability to cart the rubbish, I guess.

Exactly - even slow players will score quickly if the bowling's bad enough.

You know the real stuff back when Alastair Cook is stroking his way to classy knock. Ahh Test Cricket :D

Also Cook has s/r of 75 in List A and well 86 in ODIs, his not that bad really. I've seen a lot slower batsmen make it in ODIs e.g Atapattu and Tharanga
