**Official** India in Bangladesh

Didn't see the match and do not have the time to go through comments/reports on the game but well played Bangladesh. 250 is a damn good score and India would have lost had it not been for the efforts of Dhoni and Karthik. You don't mind losing when the opposition comes up with some thing special. Also, this is not the first time Dhoni has made crucial runs to help India win. Good stuff.

Good effort by Bangladesh, but an even better one from Dhoni and Karthik. I'm not a fan of having a wicket-keeper play in the team as a specialist batsman, especially when there are better candidates out there but Karthik is doing well. Once again Dhoni impressed me.

I also don't think Karthik is that good a batsman to hold a place for himself in the team as a pure batsman, but i guess he is in the XI because Tewari got injured and had to go back home.

Karthik would probably have played anyway, I just don't like to upset the balance of a team by playing a wicket keeper as a pure batsman. Besides, if the selectors didn't think Dhoni's keeping is up to scratch then they should have let Karthik keep wicket and played Dhoni as the specialist batsman, he is probably good enough to do that.

Dhoni was completely restricted in his feet movement by the hamstring and this prevented him from going after the bowling which might have been the real boon for the Indian team.
Hence why it was a good knock, and would have been great to watch.

Yeah if Dhoni's movements weren't so restricted he might have played a dire shot and could have thrown away his wicket, but because he was wounded and in pain that might have helped him concentrate harder and play within himself.

thats a good idea...i cant actually remember, but everyone here said that kaartick > Dhoni behind the stumps. But with that said, Kaartick is also a good fielder (generally) and if Dhoni is kept as a pure batsman, i see him more as a sehwag figure on the field....only a lttle faster...and with more hair.

Dhoni seems to have a thing for playing class innings when his leg is knackered. Didn't he get cramps in his leg the time he scored the 183 against Sri Lanka?

Maybe someone should take a cricket bat to his leg every time he goes out to bat.

It raises a question-mark against Dhoni's fitness more than anything else, if he starts getting cramped every time he plays a long innings than thats an area of concern.

Most people that get to 160-170+ in the sub-continent will cramp up, so his 183* isn't an issue. Yesterday it may have just been one of those instances, I'd hardly call it an area of concern. Fact is he won India the game, and he's generally very quick between the wickets.

Yesterday it was extremely humid and also the first full game after a bit of a break. That might be the reason.

Haha well yeah, but you're Indian. You could say it'd be a shame for Saqibul to be on the losing side after a fine allround effort.

Abyway, going by Cricinfo, it sounds as if that run out was stuck on the frame. I just do not understand why they don't have super slow-mo for the third umpire. Admittedly, in a place like Bangladesh, it'd be harder as I can't imagine the cameras being cheap, but these sort of things happen quite a bit.
Bu the cameras are provided by the production company anyway:wacko:

Hopefully rain doesn't disturb the game today. I really truly hate rain.

Sehwag to destroy the Bangladeshis today. I can feel it ;).

Keeping in the heat of May and then going out to bat is not at all easy.
