Well IMO, the theory behind what the Tigers did was right. There was no point playing Gas when he wasn't much, if at all better than the current younger options (McGuane, Moore, Polak and Thursfield (when he returns)).

The problem is Terry obviously believed there was a chance Richmond could come close to finals this year, and hence kept Gas for insurance if the kids couldn't hack it. McGuane's maturity has come as a surprise to most I imagine, and now there's no need for Gaspar.

Fact is, we shouldn't have signed him up for another year, so really Gas is the one that wins, considering he'll likely get a pay-out from what Greg Miller said in the interview. Kellaway is the real loser in this. Had a much better year last year than Gaspar, yet wasn't offered another contract.

Why the hell are Essendon playing McPhee on Franklin.

FFS so stupid. McPhee's strength isn't playing man on man. Franklin is killing him, and this is hurting my Dream Team because McPhee isn't running around half-back doing what he wants whenever he wants to.

Lol, and now they make the move. Fletcher on Franklin, McPhee on Roughhead... and immediately Roughhead takes a mark resulting in a Franklin goal.

Buddy Franklin is an absolute genius! They've now moved Ryder on to him lol.

All those Essendon fans claiming top 4 look silly now.

Fair enough you beat Adelaide away, Freo and St Kilda. But then you lose to Carlton, Collingwood and Hawthorn.

Hawks were great, Essendon were so indirect its amazing.

Btw, Franklin and Campbell Brown > Essendon.

Brown was outstanding on Lucas.

Im not tipping us again until we play Sydney, never win games when we should :@

Still happy with Paddy Ryder though

Yeah Ryder's awesome.

Everytime I've tipped Essendon they lose, and whenever I tip against them they win.

Regarding Hodge, he is superb in Hawthorn's backline, and if Clarkson had a better defence Hodge would be in the middle and be as awesome as he was in 2005. He is the general back there, and look at how hard he goes at the ball. There were several instances today in the backline he went in and got the pill resulting in a drive out of defence from Birchall, Lewis, Young, Ladson etc.

Hodge does the dirty work, can't see how you'd think he's overrated.

Not to mention he's one of the best kicks in the league. And do you remember the handpass he did in the James Hird testimonial game last year? Went like 30 metres and hit a teammate without them having to break stride.

Sounds like a really solid win by the Pies tonight. Missed it but reading about it sounds like we played well, albeit Adelaide had their injuries. Still, serves them right for being South Australians. O'Brien's being great this year.
