International Captain
I say marc.
Well if you're going by potential alone, then how can you discount the likes of Marc and Richard? After all, their post counts are staggering and at one point they were both prolific posters. So they both have the potential to go back to their prior posting patterns (Richard may already be there). Just like Marc, SS has slowed down considerably. He's got a long way to catch up if he keeps at his current pace. This is a tough one to call. I don't know who to go with really. I am envious of their post counts though. I know right now that I will probably never reach 20,000, much less 50k!Marc doesn't really post much anymore, so it's between Richard and Liam. But then again Liam doesnt post much either these days, and Richard has been going beserk with the posting for the past few months, so one would have to say Richard.
But with Richard, Liam and Marc, one is forgetting SS... who, if willing, can rise to his true potential and take over these three before we know it.
So I am gonna' have to go with SS, cuz' he probably has the most potential.
I'm really not. I've actually defended Richard in the past, but recently he's consistently trampled over forum rules regarding his stalking of Scaly & his outings of SW and I don't think either has added anything to CW's overall atmos or done him any credit.I don't get it though. People disagree with the way you go on about it in this instance and you feel victimised? Granted Brumby seems like he's out to get you, but as for the others, they don't like your invigilence of the BLE accounts and the extents you go to and have every right to voice their frustration. They disagreeing with your style is hardly an attack on you on an insult on your charachter. It's not that far-fetched that constantly bring up a troll might annoy people and if you care about things like that then you should stop. I do get the feeling that you get unfairly targeted sometimes because of your prolific nature, but in this case, people are just generally annoyed with outings. It's hardly everyone out to get you and saying such things is poor form. Concede the point even if you don't understand it, as I said I don't care, but I acknowledge other people do and would try and considerate on their behalf.
Furthermore the pic was mine originally and I feel gimpy for creating this whole mess, to an extent.
If any other member did the same amount of outings that Richard did, I'm confident they'd recieve the same reactions from the same people, besides BB maybe. The others posted it once or twice and that was it.
If Richard is going to make threads on it and post the pic, he opens himself up to the sort of criticism that we've seen recently. They have the same right to be critical as he has to post it (well not anymore as per James instructions). And I don't see why the criticism should be tantamount to a personal attack on his character which seems to be the case as he is getting quite offended by the whole ordeal.
It's simple, people don't like it, so if he cares what people think, which he obviously does from his reactons, he should stop regardless of whether he (or I) agree with them. If he doesn't give a ****, then continue by all means.
LOL He's got less than me!ch00baka already reached 50,000.
Unfortunately, mere mortals aren't allowed to see/read his posts.
It was fun for a while. Especially my dramatic run of getting him on his first post for a time. I don't think Gelman should feel bad about it tbh, but when normal, respected users get tired of it, it's time to stop, which we've all done now, and obviously James doesn't want to see it again anyhow.Oh, I'll retire the pic now, no doubts, as per The Boss' suggestion. It was fun while it lasted, though - don't you feel too bad about that. Sure Martyn and PF would say the same. And don't feel you created the mess - as I say, there's one person and only one person to blame, and that's SW\BLE.
As to people being annoyed, it's completely fair enough in some cases (Dasa, Perm, Collins) because they've not had long-term grudges against me. In some cases, though (*The Certain Someone*, Marc, grecian, DB to an extent and only to an extent) it's patently just opportunism to jump on the bandwagon. That's what gives me the feeling of victimisation - those with legitimate gripes on an isolated matter (Perm, Dasa, Collins) have in fact merely created a vehicle for those others to ferry merrily onwards.
I'll try to do the whole exposing-SW\BLE a bit more quietly from now on, especially now the pic is retired.
How is this doing it more quitely? Leave it to the mods please rather than going on about it as James indicated.Maybe if you didn't view it as "stalking"... anyway, all done before.
I don't dispute for a second that the outing of SW\BLE has done me discredit in certain eyes (certainly not all, remember) and as such I'll try and do it a bit more quietly in future, as I've already stated.
There's a fine line between acting the non-existant cop and "every citizen has his crime-prevention duty" (DON'T jump on me for inappropriate metaphors again) and it's not by any means an easy line to find at CW.
The post you linked was before the post you quoted though! How is this doing it more quitely? Leave it to the mods please rather than going on about it as James indicated.
Very well put, and probably better than I did.It was fun for a while. Especially my dramatic run of getting him on his first post for a time. I don't think Gelman should feel bad about it tbh, but when normal, respected users get tired of it, it's time to stop, which we've all done now, and obviously James doesn't want to see it again anyhow.
