*Official* English Football Season 2006-07

That's crazy. Dare I ask about other clubs? Sounds more like it was just Arsenal not spending rather than SAF spending a lot. 540,000 over eight years is nothing for a big club. Even I know that. What about Real, Liverpool, Juve and so on?

...if this isn't asking too much, of course. :D

EDIT: Surprised at how few purchased they made over those eight years, too... you sure that's the lot?

Difference = Arsenal made a loss of 540k over the same period.

It was 89. That's why it wound up as the last game, well after everyone else's fixtures had finished, because Liverpool had loads of games PPd due to Hillsborough. Liverpool won it back in 90, then Arsenal in 91

The site i'm using will only cover the British transfers in any detail. Liverpool should be no problem.

Back in that day and age £15m was a lot.

Look at the prices being paid, and you'll see how much it was.
Not over that many transfers it isn't. Mitchell has just kindly posted up the Liverpool stats and they made a bigger loss, while falling from grace, wheras United rose from 11th (when he took over they were even lower than that) to Double winners.

EDIT: Admittedly Arsenal did very well, but they were never really that dominant, they won IIRC 2 league titles and didn't do too much else in the league.

And no-one has managed to come up with a reason why those stats were picked so selectively yet...

You've missed a few numbers there - and it is a lot of money in the time in which it was spent.

It's going to be over more transfers because fees were so much lower.

Hence the total spend (which would be small in this day and age) is far from small in the period it was in.
United bought 31 players in over that time period (and sold a lot more). 15 million devided by 31 is just under £500000 a transfer, and over the time period it's under £2 million a year. For a big club, that's not a lot, in the late 80s and early 90s. As you can see, Liverpool made more of a loss.

Cech messes it up again, didn't catch a simple cross, from resulting free-kick Liverpool score (and I think Cech could have made a better effort with that too...)

Hoping the match heats up a lot and there are many yellow cards handed out and a lot of people missing the final which will hopefully be against United. :p

Typical football, crucial bad offside decision(s) and a big game decided by a glorified coin tossing competition.
