Colts player ratings after OD game against Black
Everybody's ratings won't be as high as usual because I hate losing to Black.
S.G. Fitzsimmons: 'Fitzy hasn't had a good run in the onedayers so far in the preseason and may find himself squeezed out of the one day side. He will want to score some big runs when his oportunities come around. 1/10
JB Malthus: Started off sweetly at a run a ball, but threw his wicket away. Another player who would have been looking for big runs to squeeze his way into the one day squad. Unfortunatley 25 runs may not be enough. 3/10
P Bharat: Fantastic innings from Bharat yet again when her team needed it most. The move up the order helped her build an innings, however she should be very disapointed with all of her batting partners as none added any real support. Fantastic innings. 10/10
CR Butler: Mr Butler needs to start converting scores. He has all the natural talent in the world and is as fluent as they come with the bat and it showed with 15 runs off 11 balls. But rarely does an innings like that win a match. Butler's 9 overs with the ball were impressive, but it's with the bat that the Colts need Butler to shine 3/10
AS Das: What is the worst thing to do when you've just built yourself a platform for a long innings and are scoring freely? Yes, that's right run yourself out. 'Dasa' will be disapointed he got out after starting so well. 3/10
DP Towns: Sacrificing his opening position to give others a bat, Towns wasted a golden opportunity to bat a long innnings with Bharat and give the Colts a real show at chasing down the imposing total. Fortunately for Towns he won't often be comeing in at number 6 for the Colts. 1/10
MW Wilson: Given the tremendous onslaught that the Blacks were handing out to Thomas, Wilson was able to hold things together slightly. He managed to pick up 2 wickets from his 10 overs. He would be disapointed that he didn't score too many more runs with the bat, but it is a long season and there is plenty of time for him to score runs. 4/10
TV Weber: After batting so well for the Colts at number 4 last season, it was disapointing not to see Weber score more runs and say to the Colts' management that, "I should be batting higher." He performed reasonably well with the ball, however McNamara may have leaped him as next spinner in line. 3/10
JP McNamara: McNamara was the pick of the bowlers, despite Shah's late innings comeback. His 3 wickets kept Black well under 350. He's not expected to make runs so his duck isn't a surprise. Has made the selectors stand up and look with his impressive bowling performance. 7/10
M Shah: Again Shah showed his determination, being able to come back and take 4 impressive late order wickets. He finished with 5/54 and also weilded some quick runs down the bottom of the order which could come in handy as the season progresses. Very Impressive 10/10
GM Thomas: Thomas recieves a point for turning up, and then lost one for putting his pads on the wrong leg, but then gained half a point for hitting a four. Not much else to say about Thomas' performance, other than he may not see the white ball again this season. 0.5/10
