Obviously it would have been a ridiculous thought that anyone from the club with the run-down 20,000 seater stadium that might make Europe would get into the side ahead of someone performing adequately for a "big" club. James got screwed, TBH.

Matty Taylor got screwed out of Goal of the Month, let alone Goal of the Season, too - can anyone tell me how a volley from the edge of the centre circle doesn't win GotM?
Well it was a fluke. ;)

Regarding Premier League team of the year, absolute joke that James didn't get the 'keeper of the year, VDS has been shaky of late and Cech is ludcrously over rated. Also unsure how Evra managed to get left back...

Can someone post the team of the year? Thanks in advance. :)

All I can confirm is that Chris Shuker was in the League One team. Deservedly so, and I suppose Greenacre was never gonna make it, especially given the form of the magnificent Billy Sharp.

Because the keeper was woeful and there was more luck involved than come of the other goals that month.

IIRC wasn't that when van Persie scored that volley of his?

That sounds like the same old complaint in CC by members from Victoria and in the Victorian media that they don't pick Victorians for the Australian Test team (despite there wasn't any spots available).

On a more funny note, did anybody hear about this?

Not really, they lost 4-1 to Chelsea (was to be expected tbh, and there is nothing too wrong in losing to them), but got done 0-3 at Sheffield United.

And I must pass a thanks to the other Nerazzurri (Atalanta, also have this nick name as their shir colours are very similar) for beating Roma to give the Scudetto, and I think I love Marco Materazzi. At least it was won on the pitch.
Yeah there's no real shame in that i guess

and dont forget they got beat by Reading 6-0
Shutup you!!

Do have to say the entire back 5 from the same team does seem strange when they're not even the team with the best defensive record this season.
They are when that back 5 plays - injuries have seen to our defensive record really, it was the best for a long time.

Nah, 'twas when Scholes scored what was admittedly an excellent volley, but TBH it was pretty much exactly the same but hit harder and from closer in.

And besides, the keeper was woeful when Beckham scored from the halfway line, but people still raved about it.

I'm not complaining that they don't pick players from Pompey specifically, just that they don't pick players from "unfashionable" clubs. The England side would almost undoubtedly be better if they did, because dire utility players like Phil Neville wouldn't win 50 caps just because they play for Man Utd.

When have you ever seen keepers stand on there line when a guy has the ball on the half way line?.There usually just outside there box.It was an unbeliavable strike by Beckham TBH and he deserves a huge amount of praise for that IMO

Yes, it was a great goal. Doesn't change the fact it was dire goalkeeping.

I repeat what could Sullivan have done differantly?.He had no chance TBH.Keepers don't IMO find it neccessary to be on their line when a player has the ball on the half way line.As if Sullivan was expecting that!!!!.8-)
