Haha, Rodgie.

Woeful performance by England, Strauss looked good for a start and then faded as the game went on. Smith getting some more runs under his belt, nice work.

If we are going to go at 2 an over shouldn't we be wearing whites. England thought they would bat first because they remembered how they chased here the last game thinking that any team would also find it hard chasing.

Enter Smith and de Villiers - England take note - this is how you chase, or this is how to bat in one day internationals . Attack the bowlers, good balls or bad balls. No we stand there like frightened rabbits. Power plays? They don't apply to us in as much Vaughan forgets to let the umpire know when he has taken one and when batting we must be the only ODI team that don't use them at all. Will Australia go at 2 an over against this same SA bowling attack? No they are not idiots. If their openers get out they have enough depth in their batting not to worry about it. They can even afford 4 fast bowlers plus an all rounder. We have to rely on two and an all rounder because we have to have pack the side with batsmen.

Bowling plan for de Villiers - all bowlers to bowl wide as he has got out playing wide balls in the past. Doesn't matter they are only chasing 150 just carry on bowling wides and look like fools who are unable to bowl straight. :@

What Mahmood is doing opening the bowling when he doesn't even open for Lancs I'll never know. 28 from 2 overs? Do the bowlers ever think for themselves or just bowl to some ridiculous plan. 14 off an over? Next over I would bowl 6 yorkers and see how the batsmen do. Sorry yorkers are only for death bowling. I forgot that. 8-) Batsmen coming down the wicket, how about aiming for their head.

Well done South Africa. Make the most of it. You won't find such easy pickings again.

Time for the England team to return to their counties. New coach, captain and team.
We have another game coming up on Saturday and should play -

1 Flintoff
2 Bell
3 Strauss (c)
4 Collingwood
5 Pietersen
6 Dalrymple
7 Bopara
8 Nixon
9 Broad
10 Plunkett
11 Anderson

leaving Vaughan, Joyce, Mahmood and Panesar out.
Now I have had a good moan I can go to bed.

England really have no passion or spirit as a team, their attitude lacks fire they just look like a team that comes onto a cricket field with the motive to lose.

I mean i won't have minded to see England lose if they would have put up a decent fight, but they were just so laidback and they gave an impression that they didn't care about winning (and that too in a virtual Quarter-final).

They have the spirit , passion and have got the will to win but they lack is quality and approach that is needed in ODI's

Oh come on, surely nobody here was actually expecting England to win!!!?? lol. Well I suppose the opponent was South Africa.

Stephen Fleming said before the World Cup that he reckoned every side would lose a match. Well he's been almost correct. Australia are the only team left standing...so will it happen to them?

SA are now really capable of upsetting the Aussies on their day...
Don't worry: SA are gonna be thrashed by AUS. People still think other teams have a realistic chance: it boggles my mind. They should just award Aus the WC now and get it done with, rather than subject us to the agony of going through match after match of them humiliating all the other teams one by one.

Saffies upsetting Australia "NO" i don't think so, remember they are gonna play at St.Lucia which is slow and low and those are not ideal conditions for the Proteas.

Yesterday's condition in Barbados would have made Proteas think they are playing in South Africa (with all the bounce and carry that the pitch provided).

Sri Lanka need to make a big showing against Ireland tonight to confirm they have put their silly team selections and other rubbish from the Australia game behind.

SL batting really struggles to get past 230 against quality bowling Teams at this World Cup. IMO Atapattu has been kept out far too long. A rethink is called for with regard to SL batting order.

Time to get Atapattu in for Arnold or Dilshan. Dilshan's contribution with the bat needs to improve vastly , 20s and 30s at modest strike rates during slog overs are unfortunately not helping this team set challenging targets. Same issues with Arnold.

Sangakkara also due for a good knock, having not played a significant knock against quality opposition .(the innings against NZ should have helped him find some form- unfortunately got a bad decision against Australia as did Sanath J - both were decisions which neither Umpire would have given against an Australian batsman )

NZ at Sabina Park will be a very different proposition to the one at Grenada. Black caps will come in really firing on all cylinders given its a do-or die battle . And the conditions would suit them better given SL batsmen struggling to get runs and their dislike of pitches with assistance to seamers.
SL really need to put their best team out today . But make sure the Irish don't cause any unwanted injuries ... that will disrupt Semi final chances.

Atapattu should play today with a view to getting him some batting time against the Irish bowlers .

How cool would it be if NZ won the world cup?

Very imo
Yeah I wouldn't mind it if NZ won. Def not SA, Aus always wins so boring and not good for cricket, and SL I've lost respect for after they rested those players. So yeah NZ would be cool, but I don't think it will happen.

Andrew Hall - 5/18. Wonder which bar the poms were in the night before the game to allow that to happen.
Sick of the Hall bashing.. He's taken 74 wickets at 24 in the last year.. Perhaps it's because he doesn't look anything spectacular.. Ridiculous to bash that record really

That's right. Pick on the northerners. We can't speak proper, aye?
Or you could carry on picking on guys who don't even speak English as their first language.. What next, having a go at Inzamam because he doesn't speak such good English as yourself?
