Langeveldt to Bopara, FOUR, intelligent cricket from a bold young player, flicking this wayward delivery down to fine leg for four

Langeveldt to Bopara, no run, beautifully driven straight, but too straight - and it canons into the non-striker's stumps.

What a task young Bopara has on his hands here to try and salvage something from England's pithy tail

Hall to Bopara, no run, confidently forward from Bopara

Bopara has been impressive so far. He looks a remarkably calm character for someone so lacking in experience, not to mention age
----

And that's just from today's cricinfo commentary. Bopara was yet to get off the mark when they said it. The commentators on TV also can't shut up about how young and calm he is and all that ****. Tiring, honestly - it's not like he has won many matches for England.

Why do we insist on batting first?

We've proved time and time again that we can't set targets, so why not try chasing one for once? Maybe it'll suit out pit pat crap up the order.
TBF we've proved time and time again we can't set targets or chase.

They are raving about him because his innings versus Sri Lanka was nothing short of brilliant. He played impossibly well in the situation for someone aged 21 that is impressive.

Did someone not show you enough love when you were a kid?

Vaughan is not an idiot. He is just not batting at well. Considering his injuries it is vaguely understandable.

He is a quality proven test player and a former number one batsmen...

I have no idea what he has done to deserve this "idiot" label./
Vaughan is not an idiot, but he's an awful one-day batsman. Test records don't mean jack-**** when it comes to ODI cricket. He has never batted very well in ODI cricket, now or before injury. He's not a quality ODI player and should not be in the ODI team.

It's really simple.

And I agree. But calling him an idiot is ridiculous.

As long as Freddie or Saj hit Smith on the body I will be happy from this point.

Well done Panesar, give your wicket away like a load of others. You can piss off as well along with Mahmood and Fletcher.

Pretty hard winning a game at number 9, I would off promoted him above Flintoff once they lost Collingwood, now it looks like he is going to be left stranded.

Quoting: So anyone who doesn't rate Panesar and Mahmood as ODI cricketers is a bigot? Wow, must be lots of bigots out there then.

I was being about 1% serious.
