Meh, people don't know what they're missing:

End of Over 40: 141-5, runrate=3.53, reqrunrate=4.30 (183-10)
John 10-0-26-3
Watkins* 24 (40 balls)
Gilligan 0 (2 balls)

Last Wicket: Whitehorne c. Gibb b. John 12 (FOW: 141/5)

Nailbiting stuff.

End of Over 46: 171-8, runrate=3.72, reqrunrate=3.25 (183-10)
Brooker 8-0-28-1
Watkins* 42 (57 balls)
Challis 3 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Crawford c. Hayward b. Brooker 1 (FOW: 167/8)

Then Watkins hits 3 consecutive 4s and then a single to win. Death overs in that innings again support my inkling that the code has been tweaked.

hmm, nice start for College Dropouts with the Kennedys in good touch. Lee about to come on though. Maybe he change the shape of this contest.

End of Over 20: 101-0, runrate=5.05
Vermaak 5-0-22-0
Kennedy* 45 (56 balls)
Kennedy 54 (65 balls)

Meh, people don't know what they're missing:
Yep! Tuned in at 160-odd for 6, just in time to see two wickets fall...I started daring to dream...and then Watkins got bored!

Gutted to go out, but pleased that I made a match of it against those ratings. I guess my tactics worked, and of course I had a little bit of luck.

You may well be right -- I noticed that in my last league match, too.

Both Kennedys are out but Jayausuriya and Pratley have the Dropouts moving closer to a 250+ score.

End of Over 35: 166-2, runrate=4.74
Hamshaw 6-0-35-0
Pratley* 10 (15 balls)
Jayasuriya 15 (21 balls)

Last Wicket: Kennedy c. Wheat b. Vermaak 76 (FOW: 154/2)

EDIT: ffs, 39 from the last five overs. looks like we should have any good game on our hands here.

End of Over 40: 205-2, runrate=5.13

EDIT: friggin heck,

End of Over 44: 241-2, runrate=5.48

EDIT: Lee and Sweeney get the job done. Jayasuriya is the last man out in the final over. Now lets hope my batsmen don't make a meal of this.

End of Over 50: 257-10, runrate=5.14
Lee 9.2-1-32-6
Sweeney 10-1-46-3
Griffith* 0 (5 balls)

Hamshaw and Fry have us on top. On a flat pitch with Lennon, Morrison and Janes still to come, I dearsay, we are in the box seat.

Farr 5-0-34-0
Hamshaw* 38 (45 balls)

hmm, tight bowling from Cus and College Dropouts have battled their back into this one. If they can take some wickets I think I'm in trouble

End of Over 31: 159-1, runrate=5.13, reqrunrate=5.21 (257-10)
Farr 6-0-41-0
Hamshaw* 67 (84 balls)
Fry 89 (98 balls)

drama. 248/5. 10 needed 26 balls to get it. but wheat is in, so the tail is more or less exposed. i think we're screwed. everything rests on morrisons shoulders

EDIT: ffs, wheat out first ball. morrison steps up in the following over with a boundary followed by a single. 5 to win... 4 wickets in hand.

Great match nibbs. Starting to get a bit more competitive against your guys, but that might hav jus been because Duggan got out to a flukey wicket. If only my teams morale wasnt despairing lol.

Hmm. Hopefullly I can get my new bowlers in time for Sunday, otherwise I'm going to have a few problems against nibbs' batting lineup. Going to be a high-scoring match on both sides I suspect.

the Asterix - Whenuapai match is set to go. With just over 72 hours left until the game is set to begin, it has to be noted that there has not been any bowlers listed in the bracket that Adam had been hoping to buy, the chances of completing a purchase by the time the team deadlines are set has almost passed. So unless he wants to settle for a remarkable, I feel a lot better about my chances of making a game of it come Sunday/Monday.
