Dalmeny Cricket Club v Jaffna Jets

Dalmeny Cricket Club won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Flat

End of Over 27: 108-3, runrate=4.00
Lovegrove 4-1-5-1
Ellis* 3 (4 balls)
Obeysekera 38 (69 balls)

Last Wicket: Quintin st. Fanyana b. Lovegrove 8 (FOW: 103/3)

Yep Mutliview the only real option now. Going to get Loverised in 1..2..3

EDIT: Never really got Loverised but he slowed the down the run rate enough so we never really got a decent total. The tail fell pretty quick.

End of Over 45: 185-10, runrate=4.11
Unsworth 7-0-42-3
Sisk* 0 (0 balls)

Yeah, Dropouts racked up a big total against me. Am pretty much ****ed.

Last Wicket: Kilkenny c. Farr b. Griffith 0 (FOW: 0/1)

Kennedy (Zat) made a century, while Canning was my only multiple wicket-taker.

Edit: Whoa, Griffin actually making some runs here

End of Over 17: 90-2, runrate=5.29, reqrunrate=6.61 (307-3)
Griffith 9-1-41-2
Griffin* 54 (54 balls)

Really missed a beat by having Canning at 4 instead of 5. I meant to change it before the game, just forgot about it. Would've made it a bit more interesting but it's not as if I deserved to win it after taking only three wickets.

Ye good game andyc. Westhead had a bit of an off day, tho it was good to see Gus finally stepping up and taking a few wickets.

Put into bat against Kipper:

End of Over 20: 144-0, runrate=7.20
Grabb 5-0-40-0
Wheat* 72 (64 balls)
Packer 69 (56 balls)

Will probably slow down somewhat now, unless I lose the odd wicket.

Sure enough...

End of Over 30: 193-0, runrate=6.43
Brydon 5-0-34-0
Wheat* 87 (95 balls)
Packer 102 (86 balls)

Annoys me so much that the engine isn't sophisticated enough to increase aggression when you've a ton of wickets left. But of course lose a wicket and someone will come out and generally smash 20* off his first 15 balls or something in the middle overs.

Meh you all know the drill... robbed of 350 again by the usual late over nonsense.

End of Over 50: 328-1, runrate=6.56
Vernon 10-0-69-0
Wheat* 160 (155 balls)
Armstrong 59 (57 balls)

Last Wicket: Packer b. Davies 104 (FOW: 206/1)

Wicket in the first over for Pace. Opening bowlers bowling through, hopefully they can take all the wickets again.

the start promised some much for boggles, but in the end they came away with very little. sekani's bowling performance on the flat pitch would have to be their ultimate highlight from the encounter. Whenuapai's bowlers had a real field day in the end, boggles having no answer, even after finding themselves 37/0 in the 5th over. The 15.4 overs that weren't bowled by Henshaw bought had combined figures of 15.4-5-29-8.

Nice.

Whenuapai CC 265-10 (48.2 overs)
Morrison 116 (120), Duggan 91 (99), Sekani 7/38

Boggles 97-10 (25.4 overs)
Hamshaw 3/1, Lee 2/6, Vermaak 2/8, Henshaw 2/67.

Well done to all the winners of Round 2. Here is the Quarter Final draw, one very big match up there.

Code:
Asterix XI vs	Withington Wonderers
Whenuapai CC vs	College Dropouts
Dalmeny Cricket Club	vs	Scaly Piscine CC
Citizens Erased vs	Anchormen
Home teams listed first

nice draw.

the usual suspects have once again made their way through to the quarter finals. in fact the only side in this 8 to have not made a cw bt cup semi final is dalmeny cc. winners of the past two cw bt cups set to square off in what is certainly the game of the round. i suspect asterix will be the side to beat here. whenuapai face college dropouts yet again in the latter stage of the tournament. lets hope once again the home side emerge victorious. considering whenuapai are the only side to have reached every semi final in the previous 4 editions of this tournament, the odds are stacked heavily against the dropouts. scaly piscine looks certain to progress to the final 4 for the fourth time against an dalmeny side that perhaps lacks depth to compete with the star studded scaly lineup. all depends on the bowling performance of superstar lovergrove. anchormen are presented with a golden opportunity to reach their third semi final, although they are yet to contest a final, when they square off against citizens erased.

a scaly piscine-asterix xi final looks well and truly on the cards.

Haha, that is probably the best draw I could've asked for. Not taking anything away from Citizens Erased - it'll be a very tough game - but any other opponent and I would've been gone. Withington & Asterix very stiff to be drawn against eachother.
