4-2? FFS. :@

Watford fans getting carried away and singing "Bring on United!" and "We are staying up" - no, you're not going to win this weekend and you're not staying up, you're still an awful side.

We, on the other hand, are not an awful side, but seem to have managed to play like one today. Really shocking performance, can only assume we were knackered after beating ManYoo on Saturday. :(
Or merely an illustration of my prior comment regarding the standard of the Premiership (outside of the big guns) and how flattering Portsmouth’s league position is, considering they are not a particularly good side. Losing to Watford is one thing but getting battered by them is another.

Well, you haven't actually argued your case yet. Liverpool haven't beaten anyone yet.

Barcelona were in horrible form at the time (in Spain and in Europe) and Liverpool still made hard work of that, and if they'd have lost to PSV I would have laughed extremely hard. Similarly, United haven't beaten anyone yet, but our form has been a lot better than Liverpool's all season.
Barcelona, in such horrid form that they're top in Spain, and I don't call Liverpool's win in the Nou Camp "making hard work of it"

Likewise they were always in control against PSV.

On the other hand, your side have 4 fit defenders, which includes Wes Brown and John O'Shea as 2 of the 4.

It's a no-brainer as to which side others would rather play against.
They weren't when they played Liverpool, and were coming off the back of a number of defeats.

Incidientally, if you watched the Pmpey game, you'll have noticed that despite our overall direness, Brown had a quality game.
Halsey is correct, mind you they had a horrible injury list with Leo Messi and Samuel Eto'o both injured or coming back from injury, and they are certainly making life difficult for themselves this season when you consider Real Madrid are a chance of winning it this (but they hardly deserve to).

Your team makes some great signings like Sol Campbell and David James for example (you are welcome to point other players) but what is it with this apparent policy of making good signings followed by crap and useless ones? It's like a buy a whole lot of players for the sake of it method.

Haha, it's the Harry Redknapp way, unfortunately. Always has been. We've made some really dodgy purchases in recent years, and some great ones too. It's the price you pay really, if you have a manager who's good at getting players in then some of them aren't gonna be any good I guess.

Anyway, thankfully the Redknapp way seems to be working, we're a damn sight better than we were when he took over. :)

Reflection on wage craze in world football:

Steds might remember Kristofer Hæstad; two games for Wigan (one v Chelsea where he made a right tit of himself), promptly relegated to the bench where he's been up until April. Now returned to Start in Norway, where he's one of the five best players of the league. Said league is by far the richest in the Nordic countries (causing an influx of mediocre Swedes who get paid better here).

So, despite numbering in seven digits (pretty confident about that), Hæstad's wages in Norway are 10 % of what he gets as a bench player at Wigan.

Crazy.

Predictably, the Roma fans seem to have kicked off some trouble yet again. I don't see what UEFA don't understand about this. These days, at English domestic games, there is no crowd trouble. Mix some Italians in, you get crowd trouble. Kick them out.

EDIT: Sky say it is "small-scale" tbf.

Sky are saying the trouble was started (or instigated) by English speaking ‘fans’ in black. AS Roma fans had a run in with the police over their objection to an arrest over one of their fans. Although, it has now escalated into a missile throwing competition once more.

Interesting, it seems it has all kicked off after the initial skirmish somewhat. I unfortunately am not on SSN atm and have no access to it, but if it was United fans they need to be banned, have season tickets taken away, etc etc.

Sky are currently running with the theme that 'fans' in question maybe unrelated to Manchester Untied and just English hooligans wanting to cause some trouble.

Manure must have some pretty horrendous injury/suspension problems looking at Smith starting and their bench.

Carrick puts Manure 1-0 up on the night.

I don't believe this! It's 3! :D

Have that you Italian bastards.

EDIT: Is it me, of is Tyldesley's commentary just repeating thelines he used when we took apart Inter in 1999? Mind you, I'm the only one who knows as I'm the only one sad enough to know it all.
