BARNES OUT
Decent performace from Hodge today. Took a career and Centrals best of 7/17. Dylan's career best of 152 got us to 321 and rolled them for 58 thanks to Hodge.

Hiller on fire. Wish i batted first. Wierd bowling, Poke and Wikus took 3 between them, and Scott (Resp-med) took 6.

Oi Adam do you reckon those two Rem/Qual allrounders Brian Star sold for 10 mill were worth that? awesome secondries?
Probably, though in Conn's case I'd expect the wages to go up a fair bit next season. If you sold them separately as batsmen and bowlers with those secondaries they'd add up to around 12m+ apiece, so it's not that bad an investment. If I had that sort of money I'd be after a masterful or miraculous specialist though, I still think they're better value even if they're going for 11m+ now.

Incidentally, got this message about Baird from another WI manager:
almost bid on your all-arounder then as i went to hit bid saw he was English.

phew that was close.
Bah.

Ended up winning by ten wickets, Bhutia 60*, Gray 46*. Solid ratings:

Anchormen
Top Order: wonderful
Middle Order: feeble
Lower Order: worthless
Seam Bowling: strong
Spin Bowling: wonderful
Fielding: woeful

They weren't affected much by the sale of Tahir... and I now have £3mil in the bank, plus two remaining home games which I'm confident I'll sell out - so it looks like I'll be bringing in two very good trainees next season :D Would like to go for 18yos with a season's head start, but I don't think I'll have the cash for that.
Hey mate, did you get 2.5 m for Tahir?

Bot bashing, rolled them for 97 with everyone taking two wickets except Dowdall. Priyantha replaced Jeithoon for match as he was rested. His two wickets means he becomes the first Jets bowler to take 100 wickets in league and cup matches. Probably means that will also be last game for club, both a happy and sad day for the club.

Happy now i'm getting Resp ratings on TIE. Not so happy though that my bowlers conceded 100+ runs to a woeful/woeful batting order. Perhaps a product of TIE, or defensive bowling orders, either or, i should be bowling woeful batting orders out for less than 100 runs.

EDIT: Also looking for some advice here...

I'm looking at purchasing a new bowler at the end of the season with the plan to sell either Walton or Beer (my 5th & 6th bowling options) and purchasing a new bowler (either trainee, or established). There is a problem with selling either of them however. By selling Beer i'll be getting rid of my only Spin option, or by selling Walton, i'll be getting rid of my only RM bowler, an effective no.8 bat. ATM i'm looking at selling beer, and purchasing a spin Trainee, but i'm not 100% convinced it's the right way to go. Thoughts? (BTW, i'll have around 730k, plus whatever i get for selling Beer/Walton)

Also, i wouldn't mind if someone could give me a ballpark figure as to how much i'd get for either bowler?

A big, big win today. Ratings were just about the same, but the win means that barring upsets I should hold my place in the division next year.

I'm getting an absolute kicking at home on a GFI against the league leaders. Was never likely to win, but figured with only two bot matches to follow I might as well GFI to minimise the NRR loss. It doesn't seem to be working, as they're coasting along at over 7 an over:

End of Over 11: 82-0, runrate=7.45
Oldman 1-0-9-0
Shirley* 41 (37 balls)
Mallon 38 (31 balls)

I'm batting first on a GFI, have my two best batsmen opening because the team I'm playing has a fairly solid all-round attack that struggles to take wickets.

End of Over 19: 118-0, runrate=6.21

I think a lot depends on the age of these all-rounders. If they have Canning potential you can get them up to being as good as masterful, along with being nice everything else. A quality/remarkable all-rounder is going to look a bit meh in a few seasons if they're not really trainable.

Clapo you should be looking at around 700-800k for Beer and roughly a little over 1m for Walton.
