Tar A.D and Scaly, now have 8 FAs. What would be a good number of PROs? What are the determining factors? Is it number of members and/or team morale?

Should add that I have 1709 members and OTM morale, with 2PROs, which I guess is probably insufficient?

Also, any thoughts on the Mohammed dilemma above?

Tom, kind'a sounds obvious, but have you checked your nets page to make sure they're actually getting the nets you think they are? Believe it or not, I've done that before, thought I'd assigned a net, only to discover that the box was blank on the nets page.
Yeah I have. Thanks for the suggestion though. :)

I use Batman to help me see my pops each week, and interestingly it seems to be treating all of them as new pops (shows as green) despite the fact that they're on the same level that they've been at for weeks.

Tomorrow will be strange in so far as I'll be more interested in my league rival's match than I am in my own. Who's Your Daddy, currently top with 36 PTS and NRR of 12.64, face a tough trip to 5th Veets, who possess the best batsman in the league and are more than capable of pulling off an upset. The Gurs, 2nd on 32 PTS with NRR13.00, have a more or less shoe-in against Team Lightning, who appear to have given up, batting arse-end-up in their last two matches, posting ratings of Abs/Woe/Med - Comp/Feeb/Feeb.

Whilst it's more or less a NRR-gathering exercise for me, I do have to think of conserving energy for a playoff, should I get there, so I'm TIEing. Greening and Staveley open on ATT, with Noon and Cash 3 and 4 on V.Att. Hope not to get past those four, but if I do there's Patel Norm, Mohammed Def and Qureshi Def.

Bowling-wise all the bowlers, apart from Bridges m, are up a level of aggression, in the hope of skittling them. Bewers Norm, Wilde Norm, Bridges M Att, Cash Att, Bent Def.

Hope to bowl if I win the toss, as I figure that has the potential to give me a bigger NRR boost.

Later, Trev

Took your advice about the flat pitch, Trev, and it seems to be working out pretty well so far.

End of Over 3: 2-2, runrate=0.67
Fernando 2-1-1-1
Stamps* 0 (8 balls)
Hicks 0 (2 balls)
Last Wicket: Pine st. Terry b. Fernando 1 (FOW: 2/2)

Mind you, it's this partnership now which will be the important one, so I really need another wicket soon. I need to win this game if I want to avoid a playoff, too, so it's important.

Not too bad so far as batting is the dire point of the team.

FFS. Whenever we start to string together a few tidy overs, they start picking it up again.

End of Over 37: 158-2, runrate=4.27
Potgieter 9-0-46-0
Stamps* 73 (113 balls)
Hicks 79 (102 balls)

Really need a wicket. They've only got one good batsman after these guys.

Not too shabby. Hit 31 from the last 2 overs.

Erasmus 10-1-72-0
Hicks* 113 (131 balls)
Cahill 32 (23 balls)
Last Wicket: Stamps Run Out 103 (FOW: 197/3)

Not very happy with that. Still, it's a flat pitch, and he's got two weak links with his bowling attack. Banking on a big one from Canning, and Griffin's due some runs.

Bhutia 35 (42 balls)

Ralph came close to breaking our best individual bowling effort (7/30 off 10), but fell short with an impressive 10-1-31-7.

Won by 10 wickets after Groves & Meyer bundled them out for around 110, Stroud unbeaten in the 60's and Orourke in the 40's.

Middle Order: feeble
Lower Order: worthless
Seam Bowling: strong
Spin Bowling: wonderful
Fielding: woeful

They weren't affected much by the sale of Tahir... and I now have £3mil in the bank, plus two remaining home games which I'm confident I'll sell out - so it looks like I'll be bringing in two very good trainees next season :D Would like to go for 18yos with a season's head start, but I don't think I'll have the cash for that.
