Now Joyce misses a straight ball, the batsmen screwing it up yet again.
For a guy who has such a good average in county cricket, Ed does like getting out in real elementary fashions and more worryingly he doesn't know where his off stump is located.

I daresay this score is going to be more than enough for the likes of England.
The batting of Vaughan and Joyce whatever the surface is never a true indication of how well the wicket is playing. Even with two wickets down I would still be extremely disappointed if we did not make 236.

TTBoy,

I saw the Sri Lankan innings, there is a lot into this pitch for bowlers if they pitch it up on the right length. This is not a wicket where slogging is easy, quicks runs, two's and three's and chipped shots will have to make up for the bulk of scoring - i.e. it will be very hard to score of someone like Jayasruia and Murali in the middle overs.

You must be confusing Scaly with someone else. He's the one who can't wait to criticise England's players.
Yea, it's not like rubbish umpiring decisions like the one for Vaughan are the cause of England's top order being crap. It's more the way that they get out in such pathetic ways for guys who don't exactly take risks and play expansive shots. I could cope with them getting to 130-2 off 30 overs (unless it's a real belter obviously) and then the middle order can get it up to a winning score. Instead they get to like 80-3/4 off 20 overs and rely on the middle order to get them up to an average score.

Wow. Went out to wash the car and come back to a nice little partnership!

Surely only Murali can stop us now.

Yes Simmy, notice how the rest of us English were keeping very quiet during this partnership:laugh:

We're a superstitious lot:unsure:

Need I remind you of KP's reverse swept 6 at Edgbaston in 2006??!

One of my fav shots ever.
