Super Eight

on the brighter note, SA topped the aussies in the ODI table year and are going to get the cash! but its really slim margin and if the SA loses(which will hopefully be when they play WI, but unlikely) any matches in the super 8 then the aussies will be back to # 1by the semis.

Sarwan is equally culpable - it's hard to understand how two such experienced campaigners could allow the required rate to go up to over 10 an over, with almost 20 overs to go.

For sure both men were as bad as each other. Although, Sarwan did get the ball of the square a few times.

Nice shot from Taylor there, timed the pants off the ball.

West Indies were pretty dire today, it was painful watching Chanderpaul and Sarwan struggling early on.

Great SL win , although I am genuinely sad and disappointed for the Windies... would 've benn happy for them to have won today, personally.

Sanath showed how he cac control his aggression when the going is tough and his Team needs him and go aggro at the right time when the situation is right.

Happy for Mahela too, but he needs to get a few more runs under his belt.

I suspect Bandara and Atapattu may appear on the Team sheet against England on Wednesday in place of Arnold + ? Murali or Dilshan.

Great victory for the Sri lankans, they are now back on track for a semis berth.

Jayasuriya was amazing and even at the age of 37/38 he could give any youngster run for his money, great fitness from the old war-horse.

Yesterday's defeat very much finishes off West Indian dream of being the first home-team to win the WC, they have just played some awful cricket and they don't even deserve to qualify for the semi-finals.

well sri lanka won it but was co-hosting it...so if that doesn't count i guess india will try to achieve that feat next time...WI have a very slim chance of beating SA but if they can manage to pull it off they have a chance...but unlikely at the moment...

no way, why would they be rushed in all of a sudden??

am i missing something here?

I was going by Bandara's great record against England last time SL played England in the 5 match series. He is also a reasonable lower order slogger. This would be an ideal game to bring him in . This long Super 8 series is going ok so far, but we need all our batsmen to be in good nick to cover for possible injuries. The England game would be the ideal one to play Atapattu . Besides dropping Arnold for 2 games would enable SL selectors a chance to see what Atapattu can or can't do. IMO Atapattu will do better than Arnold against NZ's seam bowlers than Arnold (in SL's next game after England) .

I would therefore go with - (against England)
