Cheers mate. We seem to have some quality players on this team. Wouldn't expect much less from defending champs.

Well done to Meeks and Pickup! Good show dominating as good of a state side as Queensland. Hope my preseason debut will be equally auspicious.

Good workout for fitness and getting all the guys together. Not too concerned with performances at this early stage (maybe my effort contributes to this line of thought  )

Donald shines as the juggernaught rolls on.

Under the Brisbance sun, Ash Chaulk won the toss and chose to bat first on a Gabba track the promised runs. The side started strongly as One Day International batsman Ian Markus flayed the bowling of Bichel as Kasprowicz as he raced past 50 in quick time. Chaulk soon followed before, with the score on 129, tragedy struck as Chaulk tripped while taking a single and was run out. Stedman came and went with little impact, as he chipped one back to Simpson. Cloete took over the main scoring as Markus eventually fell for 73. Despite Cloete's best efforts the rest of the side failed to make much of a good batting track, and a sure 300+ score was stolen rom them by some good death bowling by Bichel and Noffke, who both returned two wickets as Black collapsed to be 9/282 at the end of their 50.

QLD started badly in the chase and it didn't get much better as the day went on. Hopes toiled valiantly at the top with a fighting 55, but the rest of the players struggled to get it off the square. Despite a rising RRR and a fast outfield, the Black side bowled tight lines and fielded well. No bowler went wicketless , though the obvious standout was Blake Donald. The young all-rounder, who after failing with the bat, tore out the lower order to finish with fine figures of 5/42, including the wickets of a struggling Maher, Simpson and Hartley. The Bulls eventually fell to be all-out for 190 in the 48th over.

Good win. Bowling and top order batting both looking solid. Congrats to Donald for that aggressive 5-fer spell, and well done to Markus, Chaulk, and Cloete for laying the groundwork for the win.

Not exactly the greatest of starts for myself, but I guess I bowled well enough and I suppose the batting will come with time.

Yeah, I didn't know what you were doing in here because you had no real reason to be here other than to post some ill-founded accusation. If you have nothing to add, then you can get out. if you have something to add, then fine, post away.
