Have you ever watched Kevin Davies play?Cos that's exactly what they do....That's why they became professional footballers.
Clearly not if you'd pick him ahead of Nugent.

So you really think we're more likely to win in Russia than in Estonia? Right. The four upcoming games are simply our most winnable ones. If we drop points in them we'll need results in Moscow & at home to Croatia.Ugh, sick of seeing this media style garbage regurgitated by football fans. All this "must win" crap and writing people off after a couple of games and so on. England are highly likely to qualify if they win 4 of their remaining 6 games, particularly if they take points off Russia and Croatia or they get the odd draw as well. As for Russia away, Russia have already dropped 4 points at home, so it's not an automatic defeat like some are implying.
Yes I have watched quite alot of the games he's played in and he does give away alot of fouls but he's hardly a dirty player like a Keane for eg.I'd hardly say a Championship striker like Nugent is much better than him TBH.Have you ever watched Kevin Davies play?
Clearly not if you'd pick him ahead of Nugent.
Hmm. I remember the 94 qualifying campaign. We dropped points at Wembley to Norway & Holland (after being 1-0 & 2-0 up respectively) leaving us needing to get results away. We lost 2-0 on both occasions.I don't see any reason why England can't win in Russia, it's football and England might actually have gotten a kick up the arse by then. Obviously the odds are against England, but they're that not that much against England. By the time England play Croatia Croatia might well have already qualified, England would be favourites at home anyway.
England are not going to win in Russia. One victory against the might of Andorra doesn't change anything. For 50 minutes of that game they were abysmal. The pressure of playing at home might affect the England players IMO.I don't see any reason why England can't win in Russia, it's football and England might actually have gotten a kick up the arse by then. Presumably due to the fact that those players are not really world class?
World class, to me, means capable of competing at the highest levels of world football consistently, and being good enough to be one of the first names on the team sheet at any club in the world.Exactly.What is "world class" anyway?.
Haha, of course.Anti-Southampton bias shining through here!
Can I claim Claus Lundekvam too?5 world class players - Terry, Ferdinand, Gerrard, Rooney, Owen.
What do you mean "may".Giggs and Ronaldo are a billion times better than Lennon and Downing.Although, tbf to the tubby little pikey, part of the reason why he looks more impressive for ManUre may have something to do with the fact he's being supplied by Messers Giggs & Ronaldo from the flanks rather than Lennon & Downing.
Kinda what I was implying there, champ. What do you mean "may".Giggs and Ronaldo are a billion times better than Lennon and Downing.
I should hope so.Kinda what I was implying there, champ.
Allright...If you'd read it correctly you wouldn't have to hope.
Didn't you just get the names of 5? Rooney, Owen, Ferdinand, Gerrard and Terry are all world class. Ask any football expert with sense; Sir Alex Ferguson, Bobby Robson, Roy Keane, Arsene Wenger, Guus Hiddink. Put them under a decent manager who inspires them to play attacking football and you'll see. McClaren is a very good coach and assistant manager but not international standard IMO.Can we all now dispel the myth that England have "world class" players.?
Just saying....Allright...
So what have all these supposed "world class " players done for England eh?.A football team is not built around world class players and nor it should be.I'm not taking about how Terry,Gerrard,Rooney,Ferdinand or Owen play for their clubs TBH.Look England can say they have as many world class players as it takes to get to timbabto TBH.Until they actually perform on a consistent basis at international level then they can't be granted "world class".I thought this was meant to be England's "golden generation"...Didn't you just get the names of 5?
