"Team changes Lendl Simmons comes in for Jerome Taylor."

Surprised with that change, even with Taylor's form with the ball. However, beefing up the batting is as sensible move and Lara should be at three for me.
Ridiculous change IMO. You should not need batting down to 9 to win a match. Dwayne Smith hasn't bowled in two games and yet he's in the side to bat 9 (I'm sure he'll bowl in this game, but there's no denying who the better bowler is..).

I think from a West Indian point of view Gayle needs to fire big time.

Mason opening the bowling, suprising!!

If Mason isn't going to open the bowling, then there's no way he should get anywhere near the team really. If the bowl isn't moving, Mason goes the journey. He's basically doing it in the interests of comparative advantage.

Michael Mason getting the ball to swing back into the left handers a little bit, I was suprised to see him opening the bowling. Would've thought Franklin was a better bet.

Three nights in a row watching the Windies. Supporting them tonight. Hoping Gayle can reverse his recent form here.

Not necessarily true, he can be quite a decent line and length bowler if he is going well. When he isn't going well he is usually utter tripe and loses it completely.

Fair enough - haven't seen heaps of him at international level. He takes me as someone that could be very hitable if the ball wasn't moving though, as he has average control, virtually no variation pace in the low 130s.

Bond getting some beauties through, the first 5 ot 6 overs will be a pretty difficult assignment for Chandperpaul and Gayle, if they get through that short period then they should be able to start playing their strokes a little more.

Awesome first over from Bond. Gayle looks at sea atm, obvious he's out of form. Hopefully he can ride through it this knock and make a score.

He has been likened to McGrath in the NZ media a few times, obviously not as classy as him but in the same mould bowling wise. Ofcourse, when he is off target his lack of pace really hurts him as you said. It wasn't that long ago when Sanath Jayasuriya was pasting him all over NZ,

Watching Bond is a treat really, his ability to get perfect seam position is incredible. His record against left-handers must be phenominal.

Even though Bond is bowling beautifully, he still isnt getting the early wickets he used to. Its just an observation I have made, but he only ever seems to take wickets in his 2nd spell, or at the death when the lower order are in, recently.

West Indies would really be happy if they manage to get through this period without losing a wicket.
